RC Driving Style
I just bought a nitro Evader and while breaking it in, I bumped the front left tire (driving slowly). After that it would not turn. The servo makes noise when wheels aren't turned. I can still sometimes turn left, but not right. If I manually turn the tires to right or left and then turn on the car, I can turn that direction until I center it again. If I turn the wheels when the car is on, it makes a grinding noise (especially when turning right). Can someone help with out with this?

Unfortunately, sounds like the servo needs to be rebuilt. More than likely you blew out the centerring pod. Does the evader have a servo saver? If not, that should/would have prevented it.

Either way, if you want to skip the rebuild and just go with an upgrade, I would recommend a HiTec 5645mg for steering. Big power for a small price in comparisson.

The least expensive route would be to rebuild and get a servo saver if you dont have one.

You're probably better off just buying a new and better servo. If it broke that easily, it probably will again by just replacing the gears. As above, I would also suggest a servo saver if there isn't any. If there is then the servo you have was really cheap or the saver is not working. The servo saver acts like a shock obsorber for you steering servo.

I wonder if this is a manufacturer problem. You are the second fellow on this board to buy this Evader and then have a problem with the steering servo. Your post sounds an awful lot like this fellow's:

server saver

It looks like there is a servo saver installed looking at the parts list included with the truck. I guess I will email dura trax.

You definetly stripped the servo gears. If you look to replace them use the Futuba 3003 servo gears, they are the exact same(since Futuba makes the duratrax servos), and stripping the servo will happen often, I'm through my second set of gears in about 1 month (probably because I run into everything), Also there is a servo saver installed, you can adjust it with the silver nut under the front servo cover thingy right behind the front suspension brace.
