Hi everyone I recently gained an On-road Nitro RC and as i used to have a savage X i know that to start them you need some sort of pull start or roto start but i was looking at the engine and it has no pull start or roto start. I was wondering how you start these on-road rcs? Please don't bash. The engine says "NOVA" and the the wheels look stock but they say HPI on them so i dont know if that would help at all?

Thanks!

Possibly a bump box? Post a pic of your motor, and it'll be easer for veterans to help you with your problem.

Most on-road cars use a bump box. Look underneath and you'll see the flywheel through a slot in the chassis plate. That's where the rubber wheel from the bump box contacts it and spins it.

Thanks here are some pics of it.

Anyone know which one this is? If you need more specific pictures to determine which one let me know. So this one would need a bumb starter?

Yeah, It's a bump start. If you're in a pinch you can use something like a sanding drum for a Dremel (without the sandpaper on it, of course) chucked into a drill, or the Dremel itself to start it with. Just spin it up, and "bump" it against the flywheel where it sticks out the bottom of the frame. Just make sure it's spinning the right way. HTH.

Nice rig you have there, and from the looks of it some pretty nice hop ups on it. Turning the fly wheel ("bump start") would be the easiest way I can see to start it. If you have a good drill you can just put a piece of rubber on the end of a bit and start it that way also. Just be careful and make sure you test to see which way the flywheel spins first.

Thanks! So do you think i would be able to find some good specs on it at HPI since its and RS4? Or is there more to the name that i could search. Like I'm not sure what % fuel to use for it as i have never ran an on-road before?

Sweet I think i still have some 20% and i will deffinetly look into that starter box. Thanks for the all help!
