I currently have a serpent box and a dynamite box, both of which came with my RC10GT and are setup for it. The question I have is, I am thinking about buying an 1/8 scale nitro buggy from a lady at work (its her husbands and I'm not sure what kind of buggy), will I need to buy another starter box for 1/8 scale? I hate the thought of having to drag around 2 boxes on the weekends but if I must and this turns out to be a good buggy then I just may. Also any suggestions on a good box. Thanks in advance guys.

You can use one box for both but getting the RC on the box in the proper place without being set up is difficult at best.

I would choose the box with the more powerful miter inside and use it on the 1/8th and the other on the GT.

Its a pain carrying 2 boxes but not nearly as bad as trying to start an RC without setup pegs.

I opt for the OFNA starter boxes. I just ordered a new one with the HIGH TORQUE motor in it. I also have one with the 2 550's and they make a single 750. The high torque is supposedly more powerful than both and ideal for 8th scale mills (.21 and larger). Depending on the way the mill is setup on both of your rides, you can get 1 good starter box and install a double pole double throw switch to change the direction of the wheelspin. Cost a couple of bucks from Radio Shack.

Check out the boxes at OFNA's website to see what they have and then let us know which one you would consider and maybe we can give you feedback about the boxes you are looking at.

Thank you!

Well I talked to the lady today and she said she thought it was an offroad car but it turned out to be a Serpent. I dont know if I would like on-raod but he is only asking $200 for the serpent with a motor and no electronics so that isnt a bad deal at all and he also has a 4 tec. He said he would take $700 for his whole setup with both cars, radios, starter boxes, parts, tires, etc. so I might end up with some on road cars. I dont know though, all I know is off road just because on-road never appealed to me to much. Anyway I'll let you guys know. By the way if anyone has any 1/8 scale cars for sale let me know, I am in NO hurry but I have always wanted one.

Yeah Christian I LOVED my old OFNA box I had for my last RC10GT. I was deffinatley easy to use and great power. I even had the panel on mine so I just plugged my igniter into that and was set.
