How do you tell what way the engin is soposed to turn to start. I'm trying to figuar it out because my starter box wont start my ntc3. I think the box is spining the wrong way and not turning the mill over. Witch way should the car sit on the box? I'm curently using a LRP box by the way.

Ok this is working right but I'm just having problems geting her fired up for the first time. I dont have a heat gun (even though i should because it would make changing dirtbike tires alot easer).

On my car, if I roll it backwards, the clutch bell will spin clockwise (looking at it from the front), indicating that forward movement would be counter-clockwise (confirming what jet said). Your car should do the same thing, try it out. Of course, if your car has a pull start, you could always try that! :D

Unfreakin-fortunatly it dosent have a pull start and i shurly dont have the cash to run down and buy a new motor. I've been messing with this thing all f***ing day with no success. I can't even get this somebitch to start!!! I'm really thinkin about selling this sucker to someone that enjoys the offroad sceen.

The other issue is you have to have the starter box wheel perfectly in line with the flywheel. The better you line them up, the easier it'll turn the motor over. You might have to reverse the polarity of the starter box's wiring.

Just a tentative suggestion: Did you make sure that everything needed to start it is in/on the car? Also, you mentioned that this is the first time starting. You might actually need to put it on around 1/2 to 1/4 throttle to get it going, and the engine needs to be at least 70f degrees to start. Use your mom's (or wife's) blow dryer if you need to.

I only know this because I had the same problems two weeks ago breaking mine in. I finally realized I had no fuel and the glow ignitor wasn't charged.:trout: <- only with a crowbar. Yah, I was that absentminded.

I have every thing in the world that could be on the thing to start it. Nothing is missing. Its lined up the best i can get it seeing to how i dont have the right box and modifyed it to make it work. But ill give it one more shot tomarrow. Heres some new pics with everything built.

Well, no other suggestion comes to mind so I'll just comment: Damn, dude nice car! Wish mine was that high-tech looking.

What's up with the third pic?

3 pic is blury but it the starter box wheel lined up with the fly wheel. Thats the reason I'm having a hard time thinking about selling this beast because so much money was spent and so much tlc went into it. Its still missing the front foam bumper and bumer retainer. There back orderd but on order at the LHS. Like i said though ill going to give the hair drair method a go tomarrow. Thanks for your time.

I just thought of something: You might be getting bad compression due to a loose glowplug or maybe it is cracked. Just a thought.

Nope its a brand new mc-59. Do they sell new wheels for a starter box? Cause if i keep this thing I'm going to need some extras lol.

is it getting fuel?
you might have a leak in the fuel tube
also try a new glow plug if you haven;t yet..
if it's getting fuel and not firing try leaning the LSN about 1/8 of a turn.....
don't give up on it yet.......nitro is always frustrating at the beginning...no one just knows this stuff righ t out of the box...

Ya i know the beauties of nitro trust me. Every thing on it is brand freagin new. THe plug glo's bright when i take it out to test it. Everything is sealed. I am starting to think its a tuning issue. But this motor is set stock a 2 turns out that seems really lean already but maby its just me. But anything on the replacement wheels for the starter box.

I thought about that but its spitin fule out of the carb as is so i think ill try leaning it out a smige.

Okay three things.

1. Too nice of a car to give up on because you're short of patience. Nitro takes a lot of it, more than your money, as you will see even after you get it running. Don't throw in the towel.

2. To echo Heartbreak's post - indeed, you may have it lined up with the flywheel, but at any point does the starter box wheel touch the chassis? You will be able to tell if you see any skidmarks on the chassis around the hole. This is VERY IMPORTANT - if the wheel touches the chassis at ALL, it will stall the wheel and act like the box motors are not strong enough. You may need to adjust the depth that the lid goes down to prevent it from touching.

3. Basic stuff- I don't see this mentioned - turn on all electronics, remove the air filter and look in the carb. With your finger off the throttle, do you see a slight opening in the carb? Work the throttle from full throttle to brake, when it gets to neutral and all the way to brake the barrel or slide should STOP and hold the carb open a tiny bit, about the thickness of a credit card. If this is not the case, turn the idle screw in a little at a time until you have the opening. It won't start without air.

The most common reason, I might add, of start troubles is flooding by trying to prime the engine. You only need to bring the fuel UP TO the carb before trying to start - let the starter box and engine do the rest.

BTW you made a wise choice with a non-pullstart. The engine sits lower, lowering the center of gravity, and pull starts are actually quite fragile and break very easily, especially when you get frustrated.
