What does it mean when you have to give it 1/4 to 1/2 throttle for the truck to start after it is warmed up?
My guess it would be rich on the low side?

My 2.5 Maxx runs like junk when it's below 40. It runs like a raped ape when it's sixty. Nitros don't like the cold.

On the contrary. Any air breathing engine loves cold. Cold air is more dense, thus more airflow. You just have to fatten your mixture to match the dense air and your engine will LOVE it.
agreed to an extent, nitro engines HAVE to get up to temp in order to run right. If it is just to cold they will never reach operating temp. he may need to wrap his head in order to get the mill up to temp.
Ya colder air is better for a car engine because its more dense and the computer can sense this and adjust everything to get the engine to put out more power with the higher amount of oxygen in the cylinder.
now what they need is a nitro engine that can sense the air temp and density and change its own settings. however that would take quite a lot of work, room, and weight, and $ to get it to work. and its just another thing to break
