No. The xl-5 is a brushed ESC, the VXL motor is a brushless motor. You can run many brushed motors off of a brushless ESC, but no brushless motors off of a brushed ESC.

As i told you in your other post on this same topic, there are brushed electric motors fro sale for 10-15 $ online and at your LHS. You just have to look around.
