My friend just bought a XXX-nt and I have one coming in the mail. My friends however will just stall on occasion and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or any ideas on what i can be. It is also pretty hard to strart after refueling. I am thinking that the glo plug is going. The car has only about 1/2 gallon through it and broken in properly..

If it stalls during normal running and then is very hard to start, that can be a sign of overheating. Do you have a temp gun to use to monitor engine temp? Granted there can be a number of other possibilities, but this is the first that comes to mind.

I was toying with the idea of overheating but my LHS had put it in my friends head that the glow plugs have a tendency to go during break in. Neither of us have temp guns or gauges but from what I have been reading it is something that is well worth the investment.

Kinger - although glow plugs tend to foul early after break-in , this sounds like a classic example of an engine running too hot. What happens, is as the engine overheats, the cylinder expands more than the piston does, and this creates blow by, or loss of compression. Without compression, the engine will stall. Starting it again, will be very difficult, as it will take some time for the metals to cool and contract again. I agree with candy, if u have no temp gun, do the good ol water drop test, after it stalls, spit, or drop some water on the head...it should take 3-5 seconds to fizzle off.

Dont forget to check the plug and fuel system too, can't have an engine run without those either
