  1. Bashing
Wow!! finished breaking in my revo 3.3 last week and finally had time for some real bashing!! I used it the following day after breaking in and it wasn't running well, looked like the clutch was fu...ed and it just kept slipping and a friend of mine having the exact same problem with the same car. I took it home to get the clutch checked and it was fine..... and then came to read about adjusting the slipper clutch, Tightened it a quarter and wallaaaa... problem solved. Thing is when i fitted the engine back in place i did not pay much attention in adjusting Spur Gear/Clutch Bell Gear Mesh and after a while of awesome and i mean AWESOME bashing the clutch bell (metal) wore out the spur gear (plastic) and I'm wondering if i can buy the spur gear in a stronger material (metal)??

Adjust it right and you won't have any problems. It's meant to be the weak gear so the tranny internals don't get ruined.

Il make sure i do adjust it right next time. So ur saying these are standard and no metal ones can be obtained? :\

You can get metal ones. You'll have to get a hardened clutch bell, too. I don't see any point in spending $50-60 when your current problem is a $3 fix though.

good point then just replace it with the plastic 1 mate no point in spending out loads when you dont need it! just make sure the clutch bell teeth ate pushed into the spur teeth nice nd secure then you will be goin bashing for hours of fun! :D iv got a T-Maxx and love it! check the T-maxx forum mate some good advice on there... just a little tip :D

Once you get your gear mesh right you can upgrade to a delrin gear for better lifetime and toughness.

i jinxed myself with this thread!!!stripped me spur gear!!! guted!!!!!!!!!!
