how tight should the spur gear mesh with the gear on the motor? should it be easy to turn with your finger or hard?

spur gear

I use a small / long strip of paper betwin the spur / bell gear as i spin it back forth to check the gap. you should get a nice tooth in print on the paper.:\

you want it tight enough on the paper that it wont fall out but that it is still easy to pull out

I have a hard time using the paper. Basically, you want your mesh to be loose enough that it spins nice and smooth. If you hold your CB so it doesn't move, then you should be able to move your spur just enough to have a "tick" of play.

put one finger on your clutchbell and another finger on the spurgear and move the clutchbell around until there is little or no play in the clutchbell.

thanks for all the info, man this site is full of information. ill double check the mesh when i get home.
