Hey guys i am wondering what spur gear to put on my brothers 2.5 tmaxx. We want alot of acceleration adn wheelies but dont know if we need a 54tooth for accel or 72t for accel? info please?

A larger spur will give you faster acceleration but lower top speed. A clutchbell with less teeth will also do the same.

I don't think you can get both, it's going to be one or the other. Like SD said the 72T will improve the low-end acceleration but you'll pay for that in loss of top-end speed.

Yes you will go from 0-20 feet in a smaller amount of time assuming there is sufficient traction. You should play around with different spur/CB combinations to find what suits your track and engine.

That is good to know for me, I was not dure which way it went either. That is an upgrade that I plan to make though!

Just to clarify, if you go to a larger spur gear or a smaller clutch bell you will get faster acceleration or more bottom end power, a combination of both will give you the most drastic change, if you go with a smaller spur gear and a larger clutch bell you will get just the opposite effect, more top end or higher top speed..
