There was a TV show the other night on Fox called That Just ain't Right or something like that. They had a bowling ball canon shooting at stuff. They knocked down a silo after 20 or so shots and were launching bowling balls at at a boat on the water.

The canon used was a bit more sophisticated than the one in your article but worked the same.

All I can say, is don't piss off your neighbor or give El Pi. and ideas to use when he goes BMW hunting.

Did I mention that I want one of these things. 600 yards is way more range that what ya need for hunting groundhogs.

:sniper:

Holy crap that thing is awesome dude. I would have to say that yardage is way too far but I could only want to see the craters that the bowling balls made in the earth.

Small world aint it. If ya know the guy, ask him if he ever took any video of that thing.

That is frickin sweet. I just love the madness.

i have heard of the camera flyback switch type thing, but never got any depth on it. my two spud guns have seen maybe.. 2 potatos? in about 100rounds, we shoot the big green walnuts (in a 1.5" barell(i can't spell barrel lol) and u need a hammer to get them in, the make a nice loud pop when they shoot and they WILL knock holes in about half an inch of wood. we also shot 4 inch 1cm diamter BOLTS. these went pretty deep into a large chunk of wood. very scary to shoot, we also shot a light weight metal broomstick about 400 yards up in the air. had to go the next street over to get it.

:deadhorse

1-1/2" pvc is 40mm bore. You can make some killer darts to launch as well. These photos are unretouched. I lauched one at a tree and had to use a framing hammer to get the spike out.

i can't wait till it gets warmer, i wanna get my cannon back out. its a spud gun i made a few years back that I've been tinkering with since, its about 13 feet long fully assembled. complete with a bipod, electronic firing and propane (yes its propane fueled) measuring device. i use the small coleman lantern tanks or the small propane torch tanks, both work and will last forever. i hope to get a rifiled barel sometime soon but i dont know if i will or not. i will probably sell it and use the money to build a new one, now that i have the knowlege from building the last one. ill get my camera sometime so i can take pics for everybody to see.
