split my rod again

Well we have had a couple nice mid 60 days here so my buddies and I have been racing are jato's alittle, so last night we're run and i get almost a full tank through mine and it starts acting funny all the way through to full thottle it would bog down and then rev real quick and take off. I checked a few thing then pulled the head off and was able to remove the piston and sleeve. this is the second time i have split one of these traxxas rods. I have a davis diesel rod on order but what am i doing wrong to split these things I know my tune was good I had a nice trail of smoke and sound right on key also when i tore down the motor it had a nice coat of oil on everything.

If your runnin the 3.3 they are notorious for breaking the rod. The davis setup is the way to go I havent heard anyone having the issue reoccur once they replaced the stocker. Your not doing anything wrong Traxxas is with the con rod

get an O.S. 21tm , i got one its a bolt in to a traxxas 3.3. and more power. back the slipper off a little.

It is painful, I was going to play with it this week its supose to be mid 70's
