I have a Savage X 4.6 bone stock but I have been looking for a new radio the DX3S. Anybody use one with their Savage? What are the pros and cons of having a radio like this for the savage? I only use this as a backyard basher and on occasions at the park-more backyard use. If anyone has any input on one of these let me hear it.

I haven't used it on the savage yet but used it on the Slash and LST2 worked great on both lots of adjustment built in. the antennae is kinda flimsy but no biggy if you take care of it. I love the telemetry on the LST2 with the temp and rx batt level. I don't have allot of faith in the speed measurement but I have never really done any testing to disprove it. As far as Range goes I just got back from the dunes and I had the LST a good 150+ yds away on a berm to where I could almost not see it and had zero glitches. just my 99 cents:->

Well,I got dx3s 1.5 month ago.I`m using it with savage XL.
I should say that it`s completely compatible with XL`s Servos and battrey pack.Dx3s provides many feautre for the better controlling savage and it works great. Also you can install RPM and temp sensor on tha car`s engine and monitor initial info on how your 4.6 works.there is also 1 more free receiver.it`s too light and ergonomic....
I think the main disadvantage is the lack of backlight display which could help driver to read display in the dusk and night.
I highly recommend DX3S....

Hey
I tried to convert XL`s RPM to KM/h using dx3s "ROLL OUT" but don`t know how to do it.Manual says you should roll the car with hand and count flywheel`s 10 revolutions but xl`s flywhell doesn`t rotate when I push the car
would you please tell me how to do that or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Should be a fine radio for any land vehicle. I have the DX3.0 and really like the lack of glitching I used to have with FM and AM. I use mine for a savage, aftershock and jato. Not really any downside for me so far. Having a built in e-failsafe is nice too. At least for loss of signal. Not sure what it does if the voltage drops.

RPM for the engine? Surprised that does much of anything to get you even close due to the slippage of the clutch and driveline.

I've just bought a dx3s for my xl,i can't wait to hook it up!!had to make up a bracket for rpm sensor.the ones it came with didnt fit.
