I'm looking into to buy a dx3s and i just want to know what some of you guys think of it and if you have recommendations.

thanks for the help in advance

I have read thread after thread regarding Spektrum radios and they all have one thing in common: no transmitter distance. I would suggest the Futuba 3PM-FS Pro System any day over the Spektrum DX3S.

I have no problem with my DX3s system. Plenty of range, enough so that I can't tell which way is forward on my truck.

I picked up a DX3S because my buddy has the 3.0 and never had an issue, range as far as the eye can see. My radio does not!!! I noticed little issues from the day I opened it (low batt signal??? and no telemetry at times) well it lost signal when driving my RS4 with a strung out OS 18 TZ. In the first picture is a cone off the front of the car, that's where I was standing, where I'm standing is where I lost control and where it went wot into the curb behind me. That is CRAP!!! my old radio has way better signal then that. I looked at the other RX that came with it wondering if I should try that one, the antena wire is loose on the board straight from factory.....

And the resulting damage.

Damn that sucks onions.

Did you remember to set the failsafe by any chance? Mine was all wrong before I set it right. Would go into WOT when transmitter was turned off.

I had set it for all servo's to go to neutral, when it lost signal it went wot and hooked right, not sure why it wouldn't go to failsafe?

You should have set the throttle to full reverse when binding. This will cause the brakes to come on full on your RS4 when the signal is lost.

I tried to convert XL`s RPM to KM/h using dx3s "ROLL OUT" but don`t know how to do it.Manual says you should roll the car with hand and count flywheel`s 10 revolutions but xl`s flywhell doesn`t rotate when I push the car
would you please tell me how to do that or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

my manual says to mark the clutch bell and roll the truck and count ten time. then take the measurement and divid by ten

I still use an older DX3 and I have no range issues at all at my local track. Probably not a very far stretch to the corners of the track....maybe a few hundred yards at most....but I have no range issues at all. I run it farther away from me when bashing at home and still no issues.

If you roll the car with the wheels on the ground...the tranny should turn....and so should the CB. Seems odd that it's not spinning?

i had quite a few problems with my spektrum....it would just start twitching when it wanted, whether or not the receiver batts had a full charge or not, and it almost did it every time it was a good distance away from me to where i couldnt catch it...went to wot on me one time and ran on me, found my truck a good minute later upside down with 3 wheels busted off of it and my engine screaming sooo loud it was spitting straight steam out of it, and ended up chunking a rod out of it...havent really trusted the radio since....as i rebuilt the motor and fixed everything else and it happend to go wot on me again only i caught it with my foot this time...causing damage to the shock towers. but definatly better than another 150 to rebuild yet another motor...and yes before all you spektrum believers ask yes i had my system bound correctly, and when i shut the tx off it would go to full brake like i set it too....it still has a mind of its own at times and like to cause carnage for me

Well, today when I was trying to setup a new car with SR3300T I mistakenly plugged the battery socket to one of the telemetry ports on the receiver(you stupid) and after that I couldn`t bind the receiver.I think I `ve burned the receiver, but now receiver keeps blinking in yellow when I press the BIND on the radio screen....

what am I going to do now?Is there any hope?

Any suggestions would be appreciated
