Well i use to have a J3 CUB
air plane when i was younger. Now i have my car and i wan't to use the old engine. It is similer to the baby bee 0.49 No the engine is a small block. I want to put to good use. I have a t-max and i thought maby i can do something on the maxx or anywhere else. So do you have any ideas?

Well it is not a $200 doller airplane engine it is like a $20 engine. all i want to know is if i can generate electricity. make like a pontone bote with a fan in the back, wachyoumacallit. anything, anything you can do with it easly not too costly try and keep it cheep you know. It could be practical or cool. i like to invent things but I'm not shure right know. so any have any good ieads?

i coud mount it to the front of the car and make my car 1/8 air plane 7/8 car. sience it is a nitro fule engine i could just buy a fule line split to share the fuel. Also if i cut out hole or a grill in the front it would act like a radiator. What do you thing?

I hope you don't mean putting a little .049 engine in a t-maxx? lol, that thing wouldn't even get the truck to move.

As for using airplane engines on cars...you could do it, but there's A LOT of modifiying to be done. And you better know engines inside and out, not mention have some serious machining skills

That would be cool to have it blow cold air in the motor, You should be able to do that... make a new motor stand for that .04 and place it on the trans I think lol

it woudn't be that hard the mount could be added to the old cool air intake stand that was atached to the trany. The mount would need no modifacation. all i need is a smaller propeller. If it does happen i will make shure to get pics.

You could tie some helium baloons to the truck and fly it around ;)

You could hook a thin rope to the prop and pull out other trucks stuck in the mud.

you could shut it off and stop blowing smoke up peoples ass.....HAHA just kidding.. I had to beat fasteddie to punchline.....HAHA again
try hooking it up to the air intake like you said and just use it like a supercharger from hell.......or make a battery cooling fan out of it and piss everbody off in the pit area.....that's a little engine there must be something different you can do with it.....a generator for a lightbulb??? make a mini RC airboat....or a really small road nitro car....get some CF sheets and cut it use some micro servos and see if you can make it work.....

I thinks a small airboat would be sweet... He only think that might give you trouble is making a carb that isnt wide open all the time .

Not at all... Check out that pic.. When I had my flight line plane it was WOT all the time. lol

Any control line plane I ever had with an .049 was wide open. When radio control became the thing, so did adjustable carbs.
After I wrecked my umpteenth control line plane, I built an air boat, that would squirrel across the lake till it jammed itself under the shrubs on the other side.
No radio, no steering, just a free for all. Great on a snow covered field though.

I had the same thing with a little cox engine. Funny how I never had a problem getting THAT engine to start...

The air boat is a good idea. In fact i saw the air boats in the tower hobbies mag and i thaught i could use my engine for that. Then i thought about more things i could use it for. Making it power the supercharger would be awsome and you would only ad about 40 noteven grams of weight. I like the idea of the air boat.

to cotroll it i could make a flap on a hing and a survo will make it plow into the water. That is your break.

i would build a boat, but i would just make the hull out of a car body to save measurment issues and evening it out so you dont turn to one side on throttle.

Make the boat air boat... out of a thick block of styrofoam. Shrink wrap the styrofoam for strength. Mount a rudder on the rear for steering. If it's too light just add a bit of lead weight where ever it is needed.

Another idea..inboard boat I have seen shafts made of tightly wound springs.. Kind of like the flexible shafts for the cordless drills. Use some hose and a pipe clamp to secur the shaft to the flexible spring. Bend a brass strip for the prop. Again just use a thick peice of styrofoam for the boat itself.

If the styrofoam has a slick bottom, and you have snow it should be light enough to also drive over the snow/wet grass.

You can also power any old small r/c or toy car with a puller/pusher prop setup
