I'm not siding with anyone here but that info posted by Comp75 has been e-mailed to me probably 100 times since the first Gulf War. It's old and actually holds no valid information, I think someone sat at their computer one night made up some numbers and sent it off thinking it would get a rise out of people. Biggest point to that being, one says Amoco gets oil from ME, while BP/Philips does not. BP and Amoco are the same company and have been for several years. Conoco/Philips are the married pair. Also have not heard of any boycott by Saudi's of US goods either, they certainly have no problem buying US made (Savannah, Georgia) large cabin corporate jets and bringing them to service centers in the US. Nor do they mind hiring Americans to maintain and fly them. What you need to watch out for should you have the unfortunate call of duty to have to go there is have two passports, one strictly for going to the ME. Should you ever have to go to Israel and have a Saudi stamp in your passport, forget it they won't let you in and vice versa. Again, not bashing nobody, just relaying some experiences I have had and trying to shed some light on information that is indeed false information.

Lots of data on the web about who gets what from where. The email that is going around isn't completely accurate. I know that CITGO gets about 10% of its' oil from the ME. How far do we take this ? Should I find out where the oil is from that is used to make my buggy tires and plastic bodies ? Don't get me wrong, I'm as patriotic as the next guy and if I thought buying oil from some source other than the bad guys I would. Somehow I think they would sell it to someone else and still get paid. I wish I had more faith in my government to watch for these sort of things.
that e-mail is pretty old and I know things have changed alot since then......I don't use BP for that reason......military has a point how far do we take it?....I came off too gung ho about alot of this earlier and I do realize it's now impossible to not buy foreign goods....I noticed from 8 years ago how hard it is to buy clothes made in the USA....you can't....I try to limit my buying things from ME or China as much as possible...I wish our gov. would get their heads out of their asses and see that the current situation is going to get worse.....

Oil issues aside, does anyone notice how many products you buy that are made in China? Our workers are being laid off here, and production gets subbed out to China because of cheap labor. Gas prices will soon go through the roof because the Chinese now have the money to buy cars and will need fuel from a dwindling supply.
A staggering sum of money now goes from the U.S. to support a COMMUNIST country, and oil money supports the people who want to kill us.

Manufacturing overseas;
Wow does this subject hit home with me...yet I'm gonna throw a different spin on the subject.
I work at the oldest continous manufacturing company in the United States...established in 1774....yes 1774 that is not a typo. I have seen a couple thousand co-workers accross the US lose jobs to forgein competition.
We all like to jump on the bandwagon and blame the Govt. or greedy CEO's, but are they really to blame?
Ask yourself why?
Why do companies and their CEO's move the manufacturing operations overseas? Who is really forcing these decisions?
Hint: Nah no hints, I want to hear what you guys think.
Please remember, this is only my take/opinion on the subject.

but the majority of the corporations doing this also look at the larger profit margin too.....greed does play a huge role in this issue whether it be the owners greed or the consumers....

Not really the answer I was looking for.
As far as consumers, How can they complain...the products we buy are already soooooooooooooooooooo inexpensive, that we have become a disposable society. Example; 20 years ago folks would buy a pair of shoes....once worn out they would take them and have them repaired or re-soled....today; we pitch them and go get another pair, why?....They're cheap!
Your second post about profit margins is getting closer to my theory. Owners; Who are the owners?

depends on the corporate structure for each company......share holders or B.O.D.....could be the Illuminati or the Masons...LOL....the older I get the more I realize that you really can't "OWN" anything in this world except your thoughts....so the whole concept of freedom is just non-existent in todays world...
