Here are some more pics...
So far I'm very impressed with the kit, The instructions are accurate and easy to follow, This is the first kit that i have ever built and I'm really enjoying it, So far i have put together the front/rear end and started to work on the chassie. The only part which had me stumped is the fact that both the front and the rear end are identical..
Heres a pic of the front end with the battery/Radio box mounted.

Another of the rear end

Ill be using a 625 Hitec Hi tork tork servos with metal internals
40mg reciever and a nice small fail safe, Sould leave me with plenty of room.. .
Just fitted the twin break disc conversion..
And all of the radio gear.. The bit that amazes me is the attention to detail It comes with 3 different sized servo horns for every servo 23,24,25 mine were 23, two different types of screws for the servo horns one for metal and one for plastic servos, So it seems to be very well thought out so far, it came with 2 different teeth spur gears apparently with the original spur gear the front wheels are permanently in the air so they supply another sized spur gear which should even it out a bit better.
Its definatly even better if you already own a savage cos you can keep all of the standard stuff for that..

Looks great. Can you resize your pics down to 640 X 480? That is the limit per forum Rules.

Thanks

Sorry I'm on a bit of a old laptop which is a bit limiting and i do not have the right programs to resize pics, I could delete them if you want..
Cheers Andy

Please just leave a link to them rather then the pic itself. Helps out the site!

Thanks

Jon2

Nice pics i guess someone resized them or my screen is jsut big looks clean lol, Hope it screams for ya.

I think you might of installed something wrong, I did the same thing. If you look at the truck the sliver axle should be on one side and the black on the other side, right now it looks as if you have black and sliver mixed. I am just trying to point it out, for the first month with my savage SS I had trouble removing the wheel nuts.

good eye dougc
yeah it looks like you have an axle wrong...threads are reversed on the silver to black

Hi guys, Thanks for the heads up I've got the joints sorted now.. :smoke:
Jon thanks very much for taing the time to sort out my pics for me, I've got myself sorted out with a resizer now,

All the radio gear is set up now, The only thing i had to do was oil the brake leaver because it was a bit stiff and didant want to return properly, I've got mi self a alloy tank protector now and a center skid plate, I think ill add a set of integy piggy back shocks and leave it at that, I sprayed the shell graphite grey in the end. Ill get some more pics of the shell uploaded tonight.
Cheers Andy

I'd hold off on getting those Integy piggy back shocks. You will find that the stock shocks are really good, just put some silicone shock oil in them 30 wt is a good starting point.

The new 4.6 8 spoke wheels are really starting to grow on me!

Looks great. The wheels and tires came in the retail boxes like that? That was not the case when I got my Savage SS last year and my new RS4 18ss last week. The rims and tires just came in a plastic bag.

The build pics look good. Check my build page here:

I dont know if you want a center skid. They are a big pain in the arse and dont serve that much of a function. That was my expierence with the maxx center skid. I have not bottem one for the savage...

Good color, I used that same color on my original SS body.

You should get an original .21 body in order it for it to be a REAL SLEEPER.

Hi guys glad you liked the paint, I brought the paint from a hobby store I'm not sure who makes it I've just tried to find the can but its lost, I'm sure it will turn up somewhere.
I just thought a centre skid might be a good idea because it might help keep all the mud and crap out of the brake setup..????
Cheers Andy
