So I"ve been doing the mustang/drag racing thing for alot longer then I have the rc car thing. In fact I started into nitro rc, hopeing to not spend as much as I was spending on the mustang. This is the 4th one I've owned, and is by far my favorite.

91 mustang lx, bone stock, with the exception of fuel system stuff and the turbo kit. The car has been [email protected] with me in it on a set of drag radials.

What cha think, and let's see some pics of your other hobbies and afflictions.

Very nice, my Project is going to be a 240sx hopefully, But my man Diver6127 on here got me into sometime getting a 68 Pontiac GTO. I'm pushing 16 later this year, So i dont drive yet, But I've been into cars for allllong time. I have a very good Fair share of knowledge on them too. But keep that stang up. Just my Opinion, but lose the color hahahaha, just MO. later man

BTW, What turbo are you using? A T-88 would be pretty nice for that, but it has some lag. LMK

I drove myself crazy trying to find a calypso green notch. No, it's not my favorite color, but it is pretty rare.

That is a T-67s . It is more then enough turbo to make 800rwhp on a 302 cubic inch engine. The stock H.O. block that came in 87-83 mustangs is pretty glass jawed around 500rwhp.

A t-88 is a totally different size from turbo (thumber frame), unless you are speaking of the midframe 76 that is modified to have an 88 cold side. All of my stuff is based off of the t04 mounting flange. Thumper stuff is race car stuff.

How were the turkey sandwiches??????

This is a questions for both of you guys...LMK Zandors way is the best :)

Mine was money. :D

Getting down to the dark meat though, which I'm not a fan of.

Hmmm, this thread is interesting. Just to put in my 2 cents, you can have a turbo and supercharged engine, make it work and still get benefit. I believe the Maquires (sp?) show integra has a turbo and supercharger on it. Not sure how it works though.

If you have the supercharger electronically with a clutch type system for the pulley, you can add low end torque. At a certain rpm when the turbo is spooled, the s/c's clutch would disengage and it would become strictly a turbo car at that point. It'd solve the torque problem with 4-cylinders while still giving it the top end they're capable of.

But the real problem with that kind of setup would be the engine management tuning. It'd just be a nightmare.

Below is a picture of a WRX with a turbo/supercharger setup...dunno how it works, or how well it works.

it just makes more since to me to develop a nice combo that doesn't have to have a cure for problems. Turbo lag really ins't a huge problem with todays ball bearing technology when compared with the super light weight alloys that make up the wheels.

I've heard alot of people talk about using the same type clutch setup for an ac compressor in a blower setup.

Well I know the 800-1000hp supras get some serious turbo lag. I've heard some don't hit full boost until like 3rd gear. And i'm definitely sure it's the same way with the 600+hp hondas

anything more then say 600rwhp is just silly for a street car though. And yes anytime you get into the large turbo stuff, it's hard to build boost without a ton of load on the engine.

All this talk of 4 and 6 cyl. cars makes me very happy with my v8. :D

I had a 88' mustang GT several years ago. I sold it cuz i fell in love with my 2000 chevy silverado. She had to go...but boy i miss her. If i could do it all over again, i would have bought the pick up and kept the Stang. My plans were to supercharge it...b303 cam...roller rockers...heads...the whole shabang!!! Dayum, Dayum, Dayum...only if she were still around. The possiblities....

I've been looking for a 90-93 Mustang Gt 5.0 Convertable for a few years now, but its so hard to find one that hasnt had the snot kicked out of it. Nice untouchable, and dont sweat what some little 15 year old boys says. Notice that kids always say there gonna get this car or that car, but ALWAYS end up driving a taurus, escort or some other $1200 car instead??? YEah thats usually what hapenes when they relize what it cost for a car plus insurance a month, Unless there mommy and daddy buy them a car and pay all there bills, then there just bitches..lol. Anyway, nice car.. 12.10 is a good ass time!! Is that with a interior?

As for the turbo working together with a supercharger/blower, semi trucks have been using this setup for a very long time. Why would you trash a kid for showing interest in your "car" that your so proud of you dedicate a thread to it and flame over something stupid just to draw more attention to it? I only have one comment for you. You said it was stock except for the turbo? Why waste money on a turbo when your engine would get alot more benifit from some better cylinder heads. The stock heads with those itty bitty Ford valves choke down the NA 5.0? So you add boost to something that wont even flow well enough for a NA engine? Hummm?

this is a good thing because 800-1000hp off the line would only spin the tires anyways, you ever see a chevy 383 with twin turbos freaking crazy almost 1500 hp street car with slicks it ran in the low 8's i was impressed

also nitrous is a way i used to get rid of the lag off the line

here ill give youll a good laugh

this is my daily car along with my play toy i go off roading and mudding so this is perfect for me

its an 83 custom deluxe 20 4x4 manual 3 speed

One of two '67 Camaros I owned. This one was a 14pt tube chassis small block car, all fiberglass except for the roof. Ran 9.40's

The other was an all steel back halved big block car that ran 10.60's

Chevy guy huh? Here's the matter of the fact. I could drop 1200 on a set of aluminium heads, 500 on an intake, 200 on a throttle body, 300 on a custom cam, and then probably another 500 or so in all the other parts needed to add the new top end, and still not make the power the turbo is producing on the little 132k mile long block with those tiny little ford valves. Start ready up brother on what is happening with fuel injection and technology, instead of changing the jets on your rochester.

Mr. Bob, That looks like a great trail rig.

Andy, thank you for the support and keep looking for a 5.0. Took me a year to find mine. And yes the was with a full interior. The car only weighs 3175 with me in it. I've removed the A/C and the Front sway bar and that is it.

And in reference to the little flame war that happened to open this thread. Those of you that don't understand me being worked up, must not have anything they have put 5 years of research, pride, and joy into. Then have someone basically tell you that you should have done something different. I'm not the argumentitive type, but when told something by someone that can't back the statement with expirence, just gets me a bit boiled.

lol, I'm done talking with you over forums. If you have anything else to say to me that isn't pertaining to our love of rc cars, please pm me or hit me up via AIM (nobnard7).
