Hello.I recently bought a nitro rc car off ebay. The car turned out to be a old peice of junk.I had it running 1 time and the expereince was amazing.A small car going that fast is incredable. So now i am going to get a brand new 1.That is what i need help on.I dont have much money to spend.I want a car that can go off raod and get some air under it without worring about breaking something. So i have norowwed it down to 2.

Traxxas Nitro Rustler 2.5

Duratrax Nitro Evader ST

These are the only cars i can afford.I need to know if u guys had to go out and buy just 1,Which would it be.Thx alot for your help

Both are good cars, I would lean towards traxxas because I had one of there products before and replacement parts are cheap, Plus the have that lifetime policy on there mills. Stick to something that you can get parts for easily. Check your lhs for parts

You should loom in the For sale forum. I am not sure if he is still selling it but RATZO was selling a RC10GT upgraded to the nines! Look in there. I think that both your choices will be criticized heavily but the Nitro rustler less. Look at the XXX-nt as well. Look at your LHS for availablity to make sure you can fix it with parts readily available to you.

Jon

Why would both of my choices be criticized? Are they not good cars or what?

Honestly the Duratrax name is not highly regarded by many here. I have no cause to trash it but I like to stay with reps that stand out poistively and I have had a RC10Gt and a XXX-nt very briefly. I liked em both a lot. The nitro Rustler is ok but the set up on em is not to my liking. Teh evader...No idea but is not liked by many. DO a search on the name DURATRAX and see what comes up

You got to remember that everybody has there choices, There is not one golden car. okay maybe "team Associated" J/k. Its all up to your driving style, If you plan on just bashing, Or just racing or maybe both. My key factor is how easy are parts. I am not really hard core stadium truck racing but I have a xtm x-cellrator , which is really my brothers , but he really doesn't use it so I took it over. And I have a Rc-gt. both are good cars, I said traxxas because it more user friendly .But thats my opp. Just read up on the thread to get more opp.

If your not gonna be racing the Rustler would be a good choice in my opinion, I have two of them right now and they have ran well for me. Finding traxxas parts should not be that hard as most everyone carries Traxxas it seem's, plus there are a few other companys that make some nice stuff for the Rustler as well. If you do plan on racing the two trucks you are choosing from would need a little work to be competitve, the Losi and Associated trucks would be a better choice if you plan on doing any racing.

i would vote for the rustler but then I'm kind of a traxxas fan...cheap price & great parts support

but i agree with jon2 i would check out the for sale forum you would be amazed
at what some of the trucks sell for and some are beautiful do yourself a favior and look at some of the ads

if you see something you like ask if anyone has done bussiness with the seller before most of the guys here are great and will tell you if you should watch the guy selling

An experieinced r/cer could find a great deal on an rc10gt in the forums or ebay for the same money, but I would recommend the rustler for you. They are cheap, suprizingly durable, with a lot of power and the best parts availability and support.

Don't let price be the only factor of your choice. Go to the hobby store and see what cars they support.

I just checked tower, and you would be better off getting the Team Assioated RC10GT for $10 more. Its a much better truck and its been a prooven design for years. Great truck for the money. Tower has the Evader for 249.99 and the RC10GT Plus RTR for 259.99, and Ultimatehobbies.com has the RC10Gt Plus for 249.95 and free shipping. If your going to spend that much cash on something you may as well get something that is worth it.
