God, it took my LHS like 7 weeks to get in my order of 4 wheels and 4 tires for my XXX-NT. That is way too long for that kind of sh*t, I had to pay for it all in advance, I expect better service and speed for the kind of money charged for that sh*t! Anyway, just my :2cents:
If you've had BS like this, please share, peace.

Hey man,

Well have you ever ordered from said LHS before? If so is this a regular occurance with them. Many things like this are out of the hands of the LHS so you gripe may be understandable but un warranted. You shouldn't have to pay in advance though IME.

My lhs's are great...usually they get things in withink 3-14 days depending on the manufacturer. Some times it takes longer but it's never their fault when Proline is out of stock or something.

Yeah, the time you state that your LHS gets stuff in for you is quite decent indeed, it's what I see as acceptable. If it's not in their hands that's fine with me, it bugs me when I've already paid, THEN it bugs me. I had bought my Losi there from them and it was a last resort because my Rush I ordered there like 2 weeks in advance didn't come in (big surprise) so I just took the Losi they had.

i had to wait 6 months to get some parts for my traxxas t-maxx because everything was back order. there was nothing my lhs could do, they didnt have the part, and they couldnt get the part. be patient its not like u needed the tires and rims to run. when i order stuff at my lhs he usually has me put a down payment, like $100 order.. i would put down like $20. i was a good customer and delt with him many times so he let me do that.

also i noticed another thing, ur in Ontario.. which is canada which could also cause some delays in getting ur parts.

I have been very patient up until now, and I do need them to run my truck because my tires are COMPLETELY bald, you can't even move you just burn out. You might have a point however with your Canada theory. But wouldn't places have like warehouses or stuff in Canada?

i dont think they would put a special warehouse in canada. a lot of places actually have there products made over seas, like china and stuff where labor is very cheap, then they ship it over to the US. then the distributors get the stuff then send it out. during the summer, when in california they were having a strike on the loading docks, like i said it took around 6 months before i got my TRAXXAS parts. there was nothing i could do because the part was out of stock every wheres. there is nothin wrong iwth bald tires, u could also just buy whatever the lhs had in stock until u got ur new ones.

At my LHS I have to order plane fuel. Its a sad excuse for a hobby shop. I order most my stuff off line unless i desperatly need something (most the time they dont have it anyway and I end up gettin it off the net) But if you want frickin Digimon cards or Pokemon crap than its the place to be!

I usually get my ordered stuff in like 2 days from my lhs. We live an hour from TowerHobbies so its almost like next day delivery for us. Unless of course that they are out of stock which sometimes happens then its on back order for a couple weeks.

dude i graduated 1st grade i can read:loser: and that is somewhat local! i wouldnt mine driving an hour and pickin up hundreds of dollars worth of stuff!

i doubt u can go there and buy stuff. its a warehouse not a hobby shop. also u might want to edit ur 1 post.

There are two hobby shops in my area. One is a non-franchise completely dedicated to the hobby. The other IS a franchise and has lots of kites. I won't bash the franchise store but I will say that anything I have ordered from them was done without paying up front. If it's something that they normally carry they don't charge until it comes in. Afterall, if you don't pick it up, they can add it to their inventory. As mad I want to get at them when something take longer than I want to come in, it never fails. I hear those words "It's on back order". I know they have no control over that and maybe we're hard on the LHS's sometimes.
What does "P" me off is when they are constantly out of high fail items, or items that are always in demand. Why is it so hard to keep clear fuel line in stock ? Why can't they keep wingmount brackets for my Storm on hand ? And fuel. Got plenty of 35% but, sorry, all out of 20%. Sorry about the rant. Think about it. Many of these hobby shops are fairly good sized. And these buggies/MT don't take up that much space. You would think that after a while they would know what to have plenty of on hand. Do we need a whole section of the store dedicated to servo horns and all the frickin colors they come in ? Ha !

Amen man, amen! My hobby shop didn't even have in freaking after run oil for engines! When I couldn't even get that, THEN my blood started boiling. They had absolutely NO other truck tires in either, such BS.

[move][shadow=orange] are u sure u are in a hobby shop not a pet shop? lol. i know my lhs doesn't carry a ton of stuff but they carry the parts that are most wanted. a couple of the hobby shops in florida that i went to had every part imaginable... RPM speedway and surperior hobbies.

Yeah maxx I have to honestly say that that post is annoying and hard as hell to read. Thanks for the tough time LOL. Newayz dude if you think it is just such a problem Losi just order from tower and be done with it. If they don't have well someone else most likely will.
