And you tried to clean house while she was gone, but it was just too painful.
Keep apologizing and tell her you will try again tomorrow.

LMFAO! That's great!:hehe:

Good luck tommorow. Hope it is a quick recovery.

Thanks! You and me both.

Good luck with everything ! Hope eveything goes well & hope for a speedy recovery ! GET WELL SOON !;)

Got the results of the mri, some good news some bad. It appears the quad is not completely torn off, it is still partially attached. So the surgeon wants to give it a week or two to see if it will begin to heal on it's own without having to do surgery to reattach it. This means I had to get a brace that goes from the top of my foot to the top of my thigh to completely immobilize the leg so the muscle can't move at all. During the mri they also found the ACL is torn, as is the maniscus, both of which will require surgery. But those can be done with arthroscopic surgery rather than having to cut my leg open like the quad surgery would require. So if the quad does begin to repair itself without surgery that would be a best case scenario, then in a few weeks I can get the ACL and maniscus repaired. Looks like I am gonna be laid up quite a while no matter what. :\

Just thought I would give you guys a bit of an update.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear there's some good news there.
I miss not seeing you here regularly. You know it's only the 2 of us that do any of the actual work. I was about to ask for my vacation, but that won't happen till you're back full time.:\
Wishing you the best. Relax and recover.

good to hear an update on your poopy situation Joe, wish you the best and hope it starts to heal itself as well and fast as it can...

bet you've watched alot of Price is right lately huh? lol.

Hey NCNitro. I'm really sorry to hear about your fall. It sounds like things are looking up already though. I know what you're going through, probably more than anyone actually. I had a below the knee amputation on my left leg this past august and have been battling back to walking with a prosthetic leg ever since. Things are fine now. No more canes or crutches but it's tough going doing the rehab. My advice to you is find out from your doctor when you can begin doing light Physical Therapy with your leg and no matter how much it hurts, bust you're arse working at it. I had to be off my leg for 18 months before the amputation. Long periods of time without using a your leg for what it's supposed to be used for are killer! The smallest activity with it while you're taking it easy will make all the difference in the world when you start weight bearing again. I wish you the best. I think you'll do well and this will all be a bad memory one day soon. PM me if you want to talk about some of the pt things you can run by your doc while you're recovering...

I hope your quad heals itself Joe. It's actually pretty amazing what the human body will do on it's own. I broke my hand a couple years ago and never went to the doctor about it. It was the first thing I had ever broken. Like two weeks went by and I still didn't have complete movement so I went to have it looked at. That's when I officially found out it was broken. Of course they told me to see somebody. I saw Walgreens. A $7 finger splint, some self restraint and time and it healed fine. I never had it looked at again, but I have the same amount of movement as the other hand. I hope it all works out for the better for ya buddy.

Thanks guys, I'm still hurtin pretty good when the vics wear off. This new brace is real uncomfortable too, you would think for $900 bucks they could make it a little less irritating. Got my fingers crossed that I won't need the quad surgery, and can just get the arthroscopic for the acl and miniscus. I have yet another appointment with the surgeon on Friday to see how the quad is progressing. Damn this sucks!!!

Good luck on Friday man!!!

Man, I feel for you. Other than dealing with pain, which you can somewhat get used to, it's the dreadful, unbearable boredom of being stranded.
Hang in there. Every day gets a little bit better.

Man tell me about it! The boredom is killing me! I can't really do anything at all as far as rc since my entire shop and painting area is down in the basement. TV sucks for the most part, I have read and re read all my rc mags, plus the copy of JP TJ brought me over. I am going friggin nuts here, and I am looking at a minimum of two moths of complete immobilization of the leg. I gotta find something to do or I am gonna lose it.

I could think of several things it should do for $900 :D

No poop! In all honesty medical suppliers should really be ashamed of themselves. $900 for some neoprene type material, velcro, a few velcro straps and a couple aluminum adjustable side supports, not to mention that of course the surgeon doesn't do the brace, so I had to go to another Dr for prostetics and braces. Even with insurance, last friday still cost me over $300 out of pocket.

No, I didn't. Since they have now gone to 1000 feet rather than the full quarter mile, I am just not as interested anymore, it's just not the same. I don't like 1/8 mile drags at all either.

I heard about that... what's the dilly??

It's only for the nitro classes. They had a couple of funny car drivers killed in a years time so they shortened the race to 1000ft to try and make it safer and minimize engine failures.
Not sure how much good it does, they still hit over 300mph in just under 4sec.

What about Pinks(Pinks all out), do you watch that ?

Nice avatar Tom!

Mel, I wish I could be painting, but my rc room and paint set up is in the basement and no way in hell I can make it down the stairs. So I am stuck with no rc, no painting, nothing but crap on tv, man this sucks!

Thanks Man!! I can have one made up for you too! :D

One of these days I will actually win a bet with Pete!

Wow. I feel for ya Joe. I was in the same boat you are in now just 3 years ago. I know what it is like to have to sit with you leg immobilized. When I broke my leg I was off of it completely for 3 months. I had a brace that went from my ankle to the top of my thigh. Daytime TV sucks, and I had 3 months of XRC memorized. I had my wife bring me my laptop so I was able to keep up with you guys which helped greatly. I was able to convince my wife that I needed an RC Kit to pass the time. All of my stuff was in the basement too. My wife set everything I needed on the dinning room table and I was able to crutch it to table put my leg up and was able to build the kit without to much trouble. The only problem was... I had so much time, I built the damn kit in like 4 days! Then I was back in the same boat.

I hope you get well soon my friend. Hopefully the muscle will heal on its own. Best of luck my friend! Daytona 500 this weekend!

Tom
