I got slowngreens old xray t1 drifter. It has a traxxas XL5 ESC What would it take for me to put a lipo to it? Just a cut off? If so what one and how big of battery could I run with it? Also is it ok to run any motor with that set up? Down to the min turn of the esc of course. I actually have a rtr axial crawler 27T on it right now lol. It was my only choice at the time and it does pretty well. I got the slash 12T but it was way to big for the car.

Thanks guys.

So looks like a 8 cell nimh is the way to go and just add weight to the other side to balance it out?

I'm unfamiliar with how chassis balance should be on drift cars. You may want to ask that on a separate thread.

I'm not really worried about balance right now. Only what battery I should run. I wonder how it would do with a 8 cell or even a 7 cell with like a 15-19T motor.
