snow..

I'm fine with it. ;)

Just make sure to waterproof your receiver, servo's and battery pack. Snow melts, turns into water. Water likes to find electrical parts and destroy them. Especially throttle servos.

I don't know how "sealed" it is.

Traxxas sells sealed servos now. That would be your best choice for cheap sealed servos.

For the receiver and battery pack, drop them into a party balloon and ziptie the neck around the wires.

You can try to seal servos with balloons and/or plasti-dip and an o-ring under the servo horn, but I've always had water get in anyway.

I've had better luck using servos that are sold as "sealed". I use hitec 985MG servos for my throttle/brake servo since it's the one usually most likely to get water in it. Since it stands up, the water/snow collects on top of and around the output shaft. Then the water drains down through the servo and cooks it. The 985MG has o-rings on the case halves, case screws and inside on the output shaft. With a drop of RTV on the servo wires where they go in, it's pretty well sealed up.

Never sealed mine but I did buy a waterproof servo for the steering. What I would have to say is let that little *@$^er rip. I have had mine in more than that wide open so you couldn't even see the truck because of the snow flying everywhere. I have also had mine covered in snow so everything was white on the truck except for the motor.

yah mine is usually fine once in a GREAT while ill just have let them sit and dry then there fine . but...i would put your batt box and reciver in a balloon

This is how mine normally looked when I got water in them:

I don't care how much you let it dry... it isn't going to work anymore! ;)

I found a really cheap way to waterproof my servos. I take them off the truck and wrap them in packing tape, cutting around the wires and the top where the gear is. then I grease the gear shaft with a small amount of grease(I just use white litho). then dab a bit of silicone sealant around where the wires go into the servo and around the shaft. The grease won't allow the silicone to stick to it. the best part is, if you ever have to take the theng apart the tape just slices easily with a knife.
We have a lot of snow up here and that has worked well so far.
