What do you guys think?
Servo for sure is super slow and acts messed up too. The ESC seems to die just booting.

Unplug the servo and try again.
Ok I am trying; can you tell me what next on this step? :D

On the battery tray side there is the receiver box, unscrew the 4 2mm cap head screws and there is a channel marked on the receiver called “STR”, unplug that one and turn the ESC on and see if the ESC functions.

Seems like it is "only" the servo.
Any suggestion what to get? Stock one or other (better/pricier alternatives)?

Sweet!

I would recommend a cheapish Amazon servo ( be sure to get the 180 control angle one ) : https://www.amazon.com/ZOSKAY-Coreless-Digital-Stainless-arduino/dp/B07S9XZYN2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=1EU4ZJOKVW445&keywords=35kg+servo&qid=1660525834&sprefix=35kg,aps,813&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEySlVYTlY1SkQ2MkpCJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjU3MzY5MkQ4VVZRMlE3UVMzJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAyMDQ0NDgzS1c0UkRMTTZWVjFKJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

And a servo horn ( stock servo spline is 23t and most aftermarket is 25t.), even though the servo I linked has a horn this horn has the correct offset and angle : https://www.amainhobbies.com/arrma-aluminum-servo-horn-black-ara340061/p409521

Get ahold Horizon hobby and see if you get a warranty replacement as a spare.

Even though I just took it apart before I saw your post? :D
I was just curious to see the inside hehe.

Doesn’t really matter for warranty. lol
Ok, one more stupid question sorry, for FPV etc. in Switzerland I've had my links etc. and knew how the system works. But here in the US .. nah.. do I hook up with horizonhobby somehow via amazon or do I create an account on their website and yadayada try to go from there?

I normally email them at : [email protected].

Or the live chat feature on their website works fairly well.

Uff this thing feels slow compared to the stock one :D
Took it apart. Feel like need to clean out and oil or whatever the entire front. The steering sounds/feels squeaking.
Feels/looks like I won't drive for days -.-'

Hmmm, odd mine was very quick.

Did you set the endpoints correctly ?

So got the new servo, installed it and tested it. But is it me or do I have a general steering issue after a bash, that might have caused the stock one to die?
Any hints on what I have to focus?

Something does look off.

Where is the center brace and front brace?

Make an account on Arrmaforum.com and post your question and video over there, lots of very knowledgeable Arrma peps over there.

Just did not feel like adding it at this point since I had a feeling that I will have to take it off anyway. That was just as demonstration. I mean even steering by moving the wheels by hand while it is turned off, is already pretty hard and with much resistance. Good thing I can compare it a little with Wife's Vorteks.

I saw so many youtubers like Talbot, RC Kiwis or RC whatever and whatso-ever bashing their cars hardcore and I / we manage to kill them on grass and concrete and couple jumps with max 30 inches above ground.
But yeah IDK already slowly feeling I should go back to FPV drones. Sure did better there and got less frustrated
K enough mimimi!!!!

Thank you so much for every input of yours Rob and let's see how the fix goes.

Okay, I get it.

I think it’s either something to do with the steering post or pillow balls.

Remember, YouTubers always fake stuff and do repairs off camera.

Even Talbot? To me he seemed really genuine with his stunts and fooooootage or thumblewomble and telling right away what broke.
Ok this might be another Thread :D

I thought the same way till I was bashing not nearly as hard as him and was breaking stuff.

He goes makes the brand that gives him the most money look the best. In my humble opinion

"I thought the same way till I was bashing not nearly as hard as him and was breaking stuff."...........................
Yeah got it; see and feel it. Guess I got fooled.

May I ask if it makes sense to upgrade to the higher quality parts these "influencer" refer or rather keep going for the little cheaper stock stuff when fixing items. Also here, it feels like this deserves an own Thread for newbies like me.
