Hi I'm new to nitro rc, I just picked up a clean used jato 3.3 worked great when i got it yesterday all day. Today i went to start it up and i had a bad glow plug so i replaced it(drove it 5 tanks day before) ran fine. I've been running rich 4 turns out on purpose just to be safe. I've been giving myself appropriate cooling times in between tanks 10 min probobly. Now my problem is i can't start and stay running idle but... i run fine with throtle1/8 way open and so forth. I stop it dies. I think i may have a more serious problem because when i look at the motor it looks as exhaust and fuel are slightly coming from cooling head i may have stripped the plug hole a little ??? or is that normal when they get hot. I been have been tinkering with the needles a little to lean out but theyve been marked and put back to stock(well when i got it) the plug i repaced is a used plug is that the problem???

Yea...I just had to tighten the plug firmly and I had to adjust the idle screw...everything great now. Couple other questions how long can I run the motor for on a 4 turn high idle at 75 outside just really looking for a safe fast tune... Like one tank 2 ? Just a ballpark guess really... How much farther can I lean it out?

As long as the engine is not getting hot there is no reason to stop. As far as leaning it out this will help.

If you keep your temps in check, you can run for as long as you have batteries, fuel and a functional truck. I just ran my jato yesterday for 500cc's straight... man I love that stupid little truck! I have a heavily modified aftershock and savage that are fully suited to tear through a brick wall, but I find that I drive the little jato 90% of the time. Just puts a smile on my face to see it sail through the air. :)

ok cool thats awesome guys thanks for your help! what are the temps exactly no higher than 210 or what not sure...sry for being annoying i just wanna be safe i love this car i mean what more do you want when u hit a curb staright on at 45 and nothing happens to it lol
:D

TRX2.5-3.3 all run well between 210-260. Stay within that range in a jato and you should be fine. Mines getting closer to broken in and in 80F w/40% humidity running 25% nitro fuel, it runs pretty consistent at 235 or so.

Although... considering yours is a 3.3 (way to much power in a jato for my taste) it will probably have enough power on the lower end of that range in a jato.
