Does sodium bicarbonate work on these newer batteries? I know it neutralizes regular battery acid

Odd thing is the batteries still seem to maintain a charge from my lipocheck, but I don't want to try to discharge them as they might burst, better just put them straight in the tub of water, will try to do that today, I have 12 of them
