when i start my slayer the wheels automatically start spinning. I've never heard of this problem nor have i seen it. any help on where is should start troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.
This would likely be the idle screw, If you turn the screw counter clockwise it will close the gap in the carburetor.
This is From traxxas Website
The idle stop screw controls the idle speed by preventing the carburetor slide from closing completely. Turn right (clockwise) to increase idle, and left (counter-clockwise) to decrease idle.
I tried adjusting the slipper but i havent checked the spring. I Havent checked the ball bearings either. I am running it in the desert so those are both good ideas. Its not the idle or fuel settings. thanx for the replies, let me know if you think of anything else
If you're absolutely sure it's not from your idle being too high or a mis-adjusted slipper, then it can only be the clutch springs or a seized/failing clutch bearing. Something is causing the clutch to grab too early and those would be the only potential culprits at that point.

Yeah the pro .15 tends to run hot at peak performance, Traxxas recommends staying under 300F. With Factory settings my .15 peak heat was 290F-298F. As well with the stock Nitro sport Body, my .15 would run 30-40 degrees hotter.
I cut the Front window out, cutout roof scoop, and the back window beside the engine.
Keeps the heat down while the case is on.
I also went 1/4 richer then factory setting on the hsp. To keep temps under 275.
