Ok I have been kicking around the idea of getting a slash I have a Revo currently and was looking at the slash for a electric purchase. I was watching a video of 2 guys with slashes at a LHS track. I noticed quite often the front end would smack a small hole then the car would go end over end. I am curious if any of you current owners have had any issues with the lack of ground clearance at the track.

Havent played on a manecured track yet, but have run full speed into a 5 inch deep pothole (with the brushless installed) it smacked down into it, then came flying out the other side, slid about 20 feet on its lid then flipped back over and i kept on driving. Most tracks now adays are having classes JUST for the slash. IMO best product traxxas has ever made.

I found the best thing to do when you get your slash is get rid of the narrow, puffy tires and replace them with a tad wider tire. This and draining the stock shocks, and running 40 or 45wt synthetic oil in them. Acts like a completely different truck. If you have to go by track/race rules, obviously the tires have to remain stock, for the stock class. Not sure about shock oil viscosity.

With 3.5 inches of suspension travel, if improperly adjusted, it will launch the front instead of sucking it up. It runs much better with a little preload and a little slower damping in the shocks.

I love my slash. More fun them my T3...

Keep the old wheels, just use them to race in the spec class. Go with somthing like the 2.2 dirt works, or dirt hawgs, and you can get rims to make'm look badass. Like mine.

Just go SLOW with mounting them, i kept throwing a bead with mine brushless and a 7cell nimh, but now that i re did them, (thanks charlie) and took my time and went slow, they can hold a bead with the 3s lipo. lol

Thank you much. I'llbe ordering these pronto. Are you referring to removing anodized coloring with "EZ-Off" Oven cleaner?

Hahaha.....Funny.... your stock Slash rims look just like mine, in that there are large, black hashmarks out of them from sliding snd spinning through rocks and dirt....

I ordered a spare set of stock rims through Tower Hobbies, but the fronts are on backorder.

I like the black rim with the silver lip. Good choice. My LHS has them in stock, but I'll have to order the tires. It looks as if I'll save about $20 if I order the rims from the place you posted, compared to me LHS.

I just bought them at my LHS for $24 a set. And I've seen the people use the dirt hawg tires on em too, these are just better for concrete/offroad.
