Slash 4x4 on the way!!!!

my slash 2wd has "KUMHO TIRES" plastered all over it, from the factory.

now that the 4wd comes with BFG logos on the tires, i wonder if the Scott Douglas edition (silver amsoil) will still say Kumho on the body???

EDIT: looked at the traxxas website.. looks like the 4 other versions will come with BFG stickers and BFG logos on the tires, but the silver Amsoil version will still say KUMHO and the tires are all black with no logos !! Hey at least they're keeping it real !!

Having kids has taught me patience well beyond what I ever thought possible.

ppsshhh... i would've shown 10 pictures.. 5 out of the box like you did, then 5 saying,"One battery pack later..." with the driveline snapped in half.. maybe not but did you break anything yet?? did it even see the world yet?? yes, no?? maybe so...

I am keeping my 2wd Slash and turning it into a sand rig to run at the beach. I have the bug body and the new Proline sand tires. I have to put a brushless setup in it though since you can't have enough power in the sand.

A couple of simple changes. Added the Deans connector and Velineon fan.

Removed the receiver and sold both the transmitter and receiver for $90. Just enough for to pick up another Futaba 2.4ghz FASST receiver for this rig.

I am working on both the 4x4 Slash and 2wd Sand Slash at the same time. Currently I am building 2 sets of big bores for both. I should finish up tomorrow except for painting of the bug body for the 2wd.

Just another dumb question, why does everyone immediately dump the factory connectors for Deans connectors?

Back when I started using them, they were the most popular option for zero loss high amp connectors. Using them was a no brainer compared to the crappy Tamiya style connectors.

Everything I have uses Deans and I am not about to change now just because the Traxxas connector is also zero loss. Convenience of having everything the same is a must in my book. Plus the Deans is a lot smaller than the Traxxas. The only nice thing about the Traxxas is that it is much easier to unplug, but that is because it is to much bigger.

If anybody uses the Tamiya connectors they should temp the connector after running. They will find that they get pretty warm due to the inefficiency of the connector. High amps can even cause them to melt.

Nicely stated:hehe:

Very clean rig! I also only use deans connectors except on the SC10 it has bullet ones for the lipos.

That battery makes that thing scary lookin'! In my opinion, the 4x4 Slash has the potential to be the most versatile 1/10 machine ever made. With tire and gear changes, what couldn't it do? Everything but crawl...
