Sirio .27 pro

I've hauled off and done it. Stopped by 2 of the lhs and did a little damage this afternoon. I decided to put the new picco 26(the one in my mutant) in the new ext chassis setup for my t maxx and purchased the s27pro for my mutant maxx project that I've been working on for the past 2 months. It should haul at 3.1 hp. It's still in the wrapper, check out my gallery.

2 months in the making, time to install the reciever, batts, and ajust the linkage. I hope the pipe works for the new mill.

Trinity tells us that the s27 and the s27r, both pull starts, will be released in about 2 weeks. I went ahead with the pro for my mute because I can use a starter box.

I've just about finished the first quart of fuel and man oh man it's got big balls!!! The hsn still set rich and it gets very squirrelly on the payment with all of the low end torque. I have not had the chance to put a few more tanks throuh it, lean it out and put it to the acid test yet. Maybe this comming weekend.

For any of you considering the 27 and using 30% nitro content, here is the feedback from Trinity tech support:

Yes, you will need to increase the head clearence by about .005mm. The kit
comes with .002/.005mm
S27030010 HEAD SHIMS Head Shim Kit.

Finally finished the break in. I installed the additional shim per Trinity's recommendation and increased the nitro to 30%. It smoked my Picco 26 on the straights. If you are looking for more power you won't be disappointed.

Does the .27 use the AAC sleeve like the other engines? Also, is the head/button a turbo or standard plug?

Not sure about the sleeve, but the head has interchangeable turbo/standard buttons.

ABC piston and liner. Both the standard and tubo button came with my purchase.

on towers website it says the sirio .27 has an AAC sleeve, while the .27 pro has an ABC sleeve. wonder if that is correct info. anyway, how do you compare the power of the sirio .27 pro to other high end mills you have run (or have seen)? I've always read that a high end .21 mill will smoke any "big block", but I've also read that you get what you pay for when it comes to mills. and with the fact that most big blocks (24.7, .25, .26) can be had for well under 200$ and a high end "race" .21 cost well over 300$...i can see why the .21's can smoke a budget big block. but the sirio .27 isnt a budget big block, the pro is listed at 369$!! so what do you guys think? is this big block worth it??

There are not many of us here with this mill. Trinity's site says that there is a 3 port econo version of the piston and sleeve available but does not say if it's aac or abc but lists the 10 port as abc. Yes my 27 does out perform my 26 on the straights at our local track. Mine really shines in the mid to higher rpm range when compared to the standard Picco mill. Here is my real dilemma, the 26 is in my T Maxx with a 2 speed, 20 or 22t cb with a 66 or 65 spur and the 27 is in my Mutant Maxx with an 11 or 12t cb with a center diff and a 55 spur. Both have heavy-duty standard Maxx diffs. I have only run a little less than 1/2 gallon through both of the mills mentioned and I have not had the opportunity to switch them out or run against the same setup. Just to satisfy my curiosity I was planning to drag race both rigs on pavement this spring. Currently they are put away until the weather clears up. I am not a racer, it's just for fun and I like to build them as much as play with them. You will get what you pay for.

I'm very interested in the sirio .27, mainly I'm looking for the most power/quality i can get that comes with a factory pull start ( i know about the pull start modded rb's, and everyone knows c-5's put out insane power..but i jsut dont trust that its modded to fit..) BTW..i noticed you said your running heavy duty stock maxx diffs, I'm guessing your running a maxximizer/kippster setup? I'm leaning towards one of those setups..fill me in if yah got the time.. peace--

I've also just got the sirio .27 and I'm having some running problems with it. Could you maybe give me an approx. point to restart with my needles . Any time I give it more than 1/4 throttle it just sputters and I can't accelerate any more than about 15-20 mph

How much gas has you run through it? If my memory serves me correctly the break-in calls for a minimum of 5 tanks, heat cycling each 1/2 tank. These are not the break-in settings just the general carb settings for the 21 or 27.

Low End: 2-1/2
High End: 5-1/2
Midrange: Flush then ½ turn out

Check with your break-in sheet that should have come in the case with the original purchase. It was a single 1/2 page sheet. I'm at work but I thought that for the break-in the hsn was about 2 or more turns out from the general settings.
If this does not work email Trinity support, they will generally respond within an hour or two.

Kippster/ RRP and waiting for them to explode. Then I'll get the UE setup.

20 or 22 CB and 66 or 65 spur....damn that thing must scream on the top end but does it have any real low end with that gearing bro.

I'm brokering a deal to hopefull get this beast. It's the Pro version too. I don't care for Turbo heads in general but I don't want another freaking crap-tastaic pull start. Roto-start is da way to go. Cept for hauling around a damn torq drill.

The T Maxx with the 26 has plenty of low end, usually set up with the 20t cb and a steel 65t spur on an RRP slipper setup. I also have another setup for it, the Fioroni 54t spur/small slipper plate that allows for the use of 12-18t cb's. I have not finished testing.this one.

The 27 is in the mutant usually has an 11t cb, 55t spur on a center diff. I would like to modify it to a larger spur and larger cb combo for a wider array of ratios.

These are bb's and not the 15-18's. I thought the same until I started asking the questions. There are some very informative threads on the subject.
