OK fella's,

Been a while since i've posted been out having fun, got a few tuning issues right now but i'm working through them slowly but surely...

The main reason for this post is A: to enable me to ignore my naggin fiance for a while... and

B~: to find out what excactly i need to do to get this Single Steering conversion done pronto....

I have done a bit of searching on here and although some threads exist it does not seem clear to me what excactly i have to do and buy...

I'd like your advice on which servo to buy too....

The only one's i've looked at thus far are as follows:
Hitec 5945MG Digital Servo
Hitec 945MG Servo
Hitec 5925MG Digital Servo
Hitec 645MG Servo

they all look fairly close in spec although the digital one's do look a little on the overkill side of things but if they do a great job then that#s what i'm after...
Any other suggestions welcomed... I'll spend whatever i need to have the best and most reliable servo possible with the strongest torque and best speed..

Now once i've been guided by you kind people and purchased my servo what else do i need to buy...If anything...

Is there a single armed servo saver available....??

Or do i just cut of one of the arms on the servo saver.. how does this work

This is where i'm getting confused.. So any help is much apprecaited...ta

Here ya go, man! http://www.traxxas.com/support/index.php?action=artikel&cat=143&id=472&artlang=en

Everything you need to know about doing this mod, right there! Very easy to do and man, it will make a WORLD of difference!

I use the 645 servo in mine, plenty of muscle for the job!

Good luck! Oh, and far as the nagging goes, it just gets worse, so be sure to register for more R/C's, you'll need something to do!

I use the JR 650M. Once you go with a single servo you'll want to either cut off the part of the steering arm that goes to the servo you removed or get the Proline Arm. Also get the heavy duty servo saver.

Does anybody know where to get an Aluminum Servo Mount for the conversion? thanx
I don't believe there is one. The steering servo mounts with the plastic mounts or you can sometimes use the little rubber ones that come with servos.

dam i just went foc in one of my revos.. well. I'm thinking of doing this allso.

looking to upgrade controler and servo

and start messing with my gearing.. other then foc

Servo: Your choice, all good ones listed above. I use in the list at the top the 945mg

Servo arm: Traxxas adapters or the Dynamite aluminum servo arm, model that fits your servo splines.

Steering arm: Cut off one end of stock one or get the Proline arm.

Servo saver spring: HD model from Traxxas.

Location: Your choice. I did the Rx side.

Other mods: See Traxxas link above. I did the grinds on the bracket that had the steering stops. Also consider the servo guard grinds

I've seen quite a few pics of Revos with this servo conv. and they all have an Aluminum mount. I've only seen plastic ones on Ebay though. Could these be custom milled?

You don't need an aluminum mount, I've never seen an aluminum mount. Use the plastic spacers that came stock and put your servo in there. Its simple, don't complicate things. The truck came as a good design to fit all kinds of aftermarket parts without modification. Cut one side off the steering arm, and mount your servo just like the stock one was.

I think you seeing photos of the aluminum servo mount that someone makes for the Throttle/Brake servo. The steering servo is only mounted with the little plastic clips.
