Good evening,

I finally got round to building my Tamiya Hornet Evo at the end of last year with a first test run a few months ago. It’s all working well apart from the steering.

There is more steering to the left than to the right so I need to correct this. I think it’s ‘simply’ a case of resetting the servo to a neutral position so it steers to the left and right in equal amounts. I’m using my old Acoms stick transmitter that has basic trim settings.

If someone could let me know step-by-step what I need to do to equalise the steering I would greatly appreciate it.

Many thanks!

Make sure your steering trim is at neutral. Remove your servo horn from the servo. Power up the car making sure the throttle is set to 0%, let the servo center itself then re-install the servo horn. Make fine adjustments from the radio trim. Done.

My first RC car was a Tamiya Hornet. I got it 40 years ago.
I'm glad its still around and making ppl happy!

Good luck with it!

Welcome to RCTALK.COM!!! :cool::thumbs-up:😁
Thanks @dustyroller, the Hornet was also my first RC car 40 years ago. The Hornet Evo was released in November 2024 to mark 40 years since the original. It’s pretty cool because it looks exactly like the original but it has a totally new back end and decent oil-filled shocks front and rear so it handles much better.
