my dad pulled out this kit out of the garbage and the wing was put together and half of the fuse but were would i be able to get a set of plans for it so i can finish it??

boy. not sure if SIG is still in business. if so, i would check their website and then Customer service. i have a small handfull of plans, but dont think i have a Cadet plans.

You may find what you need with a post over on RCU or RCGroups in the Kit Builders sections.

They were very popular planes, so I'm sure you won't have a problem getting the plans. Google 'Sig Kadet plans' and see what you come up with. I'll bet there's still a PDF file floating around that you can print out. Other than that, do what Timmahh suggests and try the forum on RC Universe. Someone there will probably have an old set, or know where you could get them.

On tower the plane is still available so sig is still around.

well i now have the plane 80% finished all i need is a little wood for the front and to cote it and it'll be finished. thanks for the help.

what would be a good non expensive engine i could put in it? it takes a 15 to 35.

Engines aren't as expensive for the aircraft as they are for the cars.

I have a Magnum .28. Haven't finished the plane it was for, but it ran sweet on the test stand.
I've read pretty good things about the GMS motors, but never been around one. Maybe one of the other guys have had some experience with them?
Can get an O.S. for $85 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBY42&P=6 or $125 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBY43&P=6
Haven't had either size, but I don't think you could go wrong with O.S. I've got a .40. Been in 4 planes and ran for 5 or 6 years. Still going strong.

okay i need help! How do you balsa sheet? over the front it has a spot where i need to sheet with a thin sheet of balsa and i don't quite know how to do it. what the right way to do it?

Well, as I said in your PM, if you eat the airplane kit, you will sheet balsa for a week.

I'll take a few pics and post them for you tomorrow. On the wing, you probably want to go with monokote, though that takes a special iron.

Okay, I see it's only 8, your time. I guess you already have the sheet? Run glue on all the framework that the sheet will contact, and if it's a flat surface, lay weight on it. If it's curved, drive pins through the sheet into the frame at an angle. Doesn't have to be deep, just enough to hold it. Don't move it around, try to set it right into place, or you'll spread the glue where it won't be holding anything. Sanding comes after it's dry. After it's completely set (give it at least 2 hours) then do the other side. Same for the bottom.
If it's a curved surface, the sheet will curve with the grain.
