I saw a show on the Discovery channel (I think) and they were showing how the Solid Rocket Boosters were made and the material used, how they worked. It was pretty cool to see how they do it and all the info about the materials.
If the Discovery channel and the Learning channel were available by themselves, without all the other 'crap' I'd be a happy TV watcher.

That looked like a really good show, I watched part of it, then went fishing lol. Those are some verry nice shots. One day I hope to see the shuttle take off. Just looking almost straight up would be killer!

who are you beason? I'm new here, you work at nasa!? i love you ,man lol
those are some awesome, awesome pics! keep that crap coming bro

sorry i dont work "at" nasa, i work FOR nasa. i work for lockheed martin on the various space contracts here in houston.

Well, either way, it's cool. I sit at a desk all day doing a job that nobody knows about that produces absolutely nothing tangible. You at least have cool photo's!

ha! i just noticed you can see the zip line in the launch photos. they actually have a basket on a zip line they use for a speedy get away if anything goes wrong with the shuttle on the pad. maybe i can find some good shots of it.

Wow, simply amazing! My father had to be at the pad for just about all the Apollo launches because the capsules contained radioactive material (he's a nuclear specialist) but he never got the cool pictures you do!

Oh, and hey, you are loved here, too!

here is a few more i found on a nasa website.

see if you guys can go here http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/images/shuttle/

if so you can get the hi res shots and there are hundres of pics
