Not technically my pet, but I have been feeding "Peanut" for a while now, and he (or she) is getting comfortable enough to stand within a few feet of me and eat peanuts.

It's funny. He'll walk up and stand in front of me staring until I go inside and bring him some peanuts.
So this is still a work in progress. Last fall, the closest Peanut the squirrel would get to me was about 4 or 5 feet. Lately, a male Cardinal has been getting very used to me, and will fly up and take a peanut from my patio about 4 feet from me.

But Peanut the squirrel has been more timid this year, staying a bit farther away, staring at me.

Just a few minutes ago. He saw me pull some peanuts out of my pocket, and he perked up and came over to the end of my patio. I tossed a peanut down by my feet and he casually walked up and took it and sat right next to me eating it. And of course, I didn't have my camera with me 😡

The Squirrel Whisperer!

Instead, he will take a finger 😅
Yeah, I kinda expect that. I have hand fed quite a few squirrels before though. They always take the food with their hands.
