I’m very new to “crawling”. If my stock shocks are 90-95mm can I go up to 100-105mm or do I just try a heavier oil wt? My axial scx10III gladiator is getting heavier since I’ve added a few things.

longer travel will raise height but will still need heavy weight oil. Heavier weight oil will stiffing shocks.
Raising height a little is good since my tires are starting to rub fenders when in full turn.
longer travel should equal more “flex”. Are proline shocks worth the cost in your opinion?

I think it is a better idea to try heavier oil and stiffer springs. Crawling isn't completely based on flex and suspension travel. If the CG (center of gravity) and weight bias are off, no amount of suspension travel or flex will help. In some cases, too much flex can make the truck perform worse since it raises the CG, and makes the car more unstable. Usually, you want a low CG, and front weight bias. To lower the CG, try heavier beadlock wheels, metal portal covers, or axle housings (try to not make it too heavy).

CG is very important to much weight to high and thing roll over . heavier spring and heavier oil along with piston holes can compensate the added weight..Going with longer shocks wont compensate added weight.

I do have some upgraded beadlock wheels and “brake rotor” weights. All the aftermarket accessories start adding weight, bumpers, racks, light bars it’ll be more of an over lander than rock crawler eventually.
