A while back I ordered a set up Injora SCX24 shocks. I ordered these shocks. INJORA 39mm Shocks- Aluminum Threaded Shock Adjustable Absorber Oil Damper. According the "the internet" the stock length shock is 39mm, but these seem much taller and the truck sits like a hillbilly rig making a run to pickup a keg of Lone Star.

At it's lowest.

To help remedy this I took out all preload and (as you can see) angled the the shocks a bunch. Now the suspension doesn't cycle right.

I'm about ready to go back to the crappy stock shocks, unless there is a better alternative.

It's the springs. All the aftermarket shocks have springs that are way too stiff.

Did you fill them with oil? I have the same shocks and only put enough oil to lube the shaft (yes I said it!) Also make sure where they are attached isn't to tight and move freely.

Hmm. I have no experience with the oil filled ones. Both of mine run the double barreled style. I THINK the oil filled ones definitely work better with heavier rigs.

I am really just starting to go down the suspension rabbit hole myself right now. My current rigs are both running 43mm double barreled, inverted, with no springs. Both sit pretty low. They both also have custom made flex blades at the bottom mounting locations.

I don't have a good picture of my JLU set up, but it's the same as on my Basecamp.

For suspension info, I just watched this Cape Crawlers video

Springs on shocks may be stiff, also risers for where the top of the shock bolts to. You can take the white plastic servo horns and make some diy risers, or order them from etsy here some options.

My first real build was based on that jeep, until I got it on the rocks and worked terrible, some rubber bands fixed the problem of rollovers and flex out rolls on the shocks. They worked very well indoors but soon as I got them on the rocks it was a hard no. Shocks play a big deal in climbing, but if it is a trail rig, shouldn’t hurt it too bad with long travel shocks.
