I'm having trouble looking for shocks for my Type SS. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or links for hop ups for the stock shocks.

I was thinking threaded aluminum, hopefully in blue.

Any tips, hit me back.

Hey, the threaded aluminum shocks are only good for show, sometimes if not properly installed, they can cause your electronics to glitch. If you are a hardcore racer, if they bend your pretty much screwed and have to buy the whole new shock set. If it is plastic, then usually one part on it breaks and it is way cheaper to replace. This is what I think of them.
I don't know if you race or not but I wouldn't suggest getting those.
Just my .02. Does anyone else agree with me on this?
Hope this helps
Peter

Peter,
I'm not a hardcore racer at all. I do mostly parting lot racing because I'm just kind of starting out with some friends.

I hope to do some racing indoor this winter and maybe get into some compition.

If I did go aluminum threaded then I guess it would be for show. Are you driving an RS4?? What are you running?? Any suggestions for plactic shock kits then??

I saw the option kits on the HPI site, do you think those are good if I did go into racing??

Hit me back.

Hey, angle your shocks as straight up and down as you can if you are going to run in a parking lot. If you do this then the car will have more ride clearance and it will not bottom out. I would just go out and get the stock shocks that you get with the car. They are very good, and durable. If you want to tune your suspention, get a heavier weight oil for the shocks or get looser or tighter springs.

I race hardcore. I have the Type SS to.
Carbon fiber shock towers (front and back)
Carbon fiber radio tray
Stock shock set
Titanium shock bars
White front springs
Stock black on the back
.12 RSS engine (came with the car) all ported and lowered the head clearence
O.S. .12 engine (fully modded) race engine
Stock HPI pipe
CVEC pipe
Futaba radio (3 channel)
Titanium turnbuckles
Lightened flywheel
Racing clutch
Racing gear box
Racing gears
O.S. super air cleaner
Custom air filters
Racing fuel tank (no primer)
In line low restrictive fuel filter

This is some of the stuff I have for it.
Hope this helps
If you want more info, I am here to tell more bout the car if you want.
Peter
