Anybody use the Hotbodies shocks on there savage? If you do here is a little trick for you.
The problem I had was the steering linkage hitting the spring. I tried to change the link end but couldn’t find one that would thread all the way down. So I made my own.

Here is the original problem

Here is the original shock

So what I did was take an extra ball link and cut off a ¼ inch of the collar. Then I drilled it out to 1/8th of an inch.

Then I cut ¼ of an inch off of the bump stop.

Here is the part’s I’m left with.

Partly assembled

And fully assembled

Now it’s installed on my savage and there is no more interference with steering.

The reason for doing it this way is now the shaft still goes all the way to the end of the ball link (So there is no weak plastic link) and all the shocks still have equal travel.

so it basically raises the spring without adjusting the shock settings
one question not about the shock how do you like those tyres? are they a good bashing tyre?

Have you bashed these yet clint? I remember Sweetdiesel was trying these out and they were not that durable. Looks like you have a great fix for that binding issue.

I think they are good. They are fairly light and don't distort as much as the organals at speed.

I haven't had a problem with these shocks yet. I have even hit a curb at WOT and destroyed the whole truck but still didn't bend a shaft. I was running the integy MSR5 shocks and would bend a shaft about every 15 min.
