How long does a RC have to sit on the shelf before it's considered a "shelf queen" ?

Or is it a shelf queen if it hasn't been run?

To me, a shelf queen can be run, but what makes it a shelf queen is how it's cared for in between runs.
Oh, and no 1200ft jumps.

So by your definition, even if its shelf bound, like new condition, but covered in dust, it's not a shelf queen? I don't have any shelf queens then.

Brand new, never even touched dirt. Or restored and never seen dirt since. That's the only shelf queen. Once it sees dirt, it's a filthy little tramp

I have shelf queens that haven't even made it to the shelf yet!!!

I need more shelves.

I think its about intent. Do I run the snot out of this car or do I take it out once a summer to make sure its not rusted too badly???

I ran my Ultima for about 30 seconds from the front room to the kitchen and back. When I got back to the carpet I gave the throttle a blip and it did a standing backflip. I nearly crapped myself as soon as it launched. I was not expecting that. But it landed right back on its feet, so I got lucky. Had I scratched it I would have had to buy another. We just won't tell its shelfmates about that, otherwise they would run her off the shelf for being a poser.

I have been stuck on collecting the Mids lately but I have a vintage Ultima and a vintage Turbo Optima also waiting for resto.

I'd LOVE to grab one of each!!!

My absolute favorite chassis is the Scorpions. It's the coolest RC chassis I've ever seen. The trailing arm suspension is a bit challenging to assemble for some people I have seen. But it's not that bad. And it is really cool to see how much camber is added when you turn the front wheels. Just look at that outside tire digging in
