Hi Guys,

After searching for a few months and not finding the 1/8th scale shell i really want i have decided to put my welding skills to good use and build a sheet metal body shell.

this is what i am basing it around ( loosely )

hardest part will be the shaping of the wings and making the headlight recesses.

i plan on using 1mm mild steel sheet so it shoulnt be too heavy.

planned measurements:....not sure what system you use in the usa so i listed all 3 :)

Overall Length: 24 inches / 61cm / 610mm

Overall Width: 12 inches / 30.5cm / 305mm

Hight: 6 inches / 15.2 cm / 152mm

i will keep a complete log from design, start and finish.

few ideas:

put my Receiver antenna tube in the same place as in pic 3, which ofc is the radio antenna

use perspex for windows

custom side exit exhaust like on this 280zx below:

i aim to have it completed within 2 months.

I made a dirt modified shell from .040 aluminum. The weight makes a big difference from the lexan. You'll want to adjust gearing, and use a heavier shock oil with heavier springs.

Thanks for the advice.

i may be buying some 1/8 associated adjustable shocks for it so i will see how they perform and go from there.

i have a 16t clutch gear on there at the moment, i have a 13t on standby.......I'm looking at getting the eb4 s3 twin speed center diff so this will help also.
