i have a 2.5 revo i have no idea how much fuel has been run through this truck because i got it used. i have a sh .21 that's never been ran and i'm curious if anyone know if it will fit in the revo with a bb kit. i have a pull start for it but no fly wheel or cb. i'm hoping that i can use it and save some money. thanks

Yep, will work with a proper BB kit. The new era one is the most universal, it's what I run in mine. Figuring out a pipe to use will be your next problem... Side pipe or rear pipe.

Would show you the mount... but it appears their website is down.

i would like to run a rear pipe. i have a ths pipe now and would like to run that one also. i will just have to find a header. i already have the foc done. what about the crank its super long? i thought that i read some where they make a nut or something that will cut it to proper length.

Well, that's if it's threaded. I think most BB cranks are pilot shafts, so I"m not sure you can just hack away at it. Besides, it's a true big block, so you will need a conversion kit of some sort to even install it as it's wider and longer than a small block and won't fit in the cradle.

after i read some more and some more i have it figured out some. thanks for your advice olds.

I hmm'd and haw'd about it and after trying various headers/pipes in the rear location, I gave up.

A pipe that is worth running with a big block is so long that it's tough to get a body to fit over it. That's if you use a condensed BB header like the one traxxas makes. The new era one appears to take up even more space. With the abuse it will take, I'm hard pressed to believe the couplers will hold up for very long since they will be supporting a decent amount of weight and are extra close to the engine, so they will be hotter and more pliable.

Just my .02

I tried the rear trinity BB pipe, loud and power suffered greatly. I tried the traxxas BB header with a BB pipe, tune was jacked up, but it did run. Keeping the pipe from flopping around was tough to deal with though. I also tried the traxxas BB header with a fantom revo pipe (large exhaust port, decent amount of volume in the pipe), ran bad.

I ran mine today with a side pipe again... night and day difference, for the better. Tune was good again, power was overwhelming again and it ran nice and cool for two hours of hard bashing in 85F temps.

If you do find a setup that works, let me know!

thanks for letting me know. i will take your word for it and just run a side pipe. i know that you are running 1/8 cb but i will just need a few shims and a bearing and i will be fine correct. i just want to make sure that i have everything lined up so i dont forget anything. i'm going on vac in a month and have to get the boat ready. i haven't even had it in the water yet. so as soon as i get back i will do my bb install. i can't wait!!!

Well, I'm running an 1/8 cb, flywheel and shoes. I moved the trans forward a bit to give me the 1/4" I needed to get the gears to line up. Having an OFNA shim kit on hand is useful anytime your installing a new engine. It has shaft extenders and all the shims you will need for a few engines.

I'm running an OFNA hardened bell (15T w/38T traxxas spur), HPI 3-shoe flywheel and clutch.

For a header, I'm running a duratrax warhead header that I cut in half so I could put a silicone connector to make it longer. I did this so the pipe could be down further and the back of the pipe could be away from the chassis further. Now I can fit the body between the new era roll bar and pipe and with it slung lower, I didn't need to hack the body all up as bad as some do.

I use some reinforced silicone tubing my father in law gave me years ago as a coupler. It's stiffer than a typical RC silicone coupler and can take a lot of abuse.

The hose is probably close to the 5/8" stuff on this site, but mine is white/clear vs black:

Well... once you get your "fleet" all running and ready to rock, it may be time to make a trip up to you and meet to break our trucks. My only lame duck is a jato, but after seeing photo's of where you run... it would probably be best left at home anyway.

I got all 3 of my MT's running good at the moment. After the pipe debacle on the revo got sorted out, it did a good job for 2 hours straight yesterday.

i went back up to the quarry a few weeks ago and it was trashed. someone took tons of the sand and it was so over grown it took me 2 hrs to get it ok. so we went to the dirt bike track and it was full of cow pies and thats a pain to clean off of the revo. lol so its back to the parking lot for now. i might try the skate park that looks like fun but i'm looking for a new spot.

Boo... that stinks.

I've just been running in a concrete skate park. Fun when your alone for about 30-40 minutes, then you just get stupid.

I used to have all sorts of places to run with new development breaking ground all over... not anymore. Get to the skate park by 8:30am before the kids show up and I get an hour, maybe more, before kids show and I leave.
