Hi I've got mi self a Standard Lightning2 that i intend on using to race, I've written up a little shopping list of upgrades to get me started on racing
Will these parts be ok to start with..?

Hardened springs..........................................
Front and rear alloy chassie supports.........................
alloy suspention holder
Hardened alloy front hubs
front stearing stabblizer set
3 piece alloy Racing clutch set
double decker front brakes.
racing pipe

Please add anything else that comes to mind..
Does anyone know if they have made a 2 speed conversion for one of these?
Cheers Andy

Andy,

Where will you be racing this??? The .26 engine isn't legal for racing in UK (They have to be .21 size) but I would be surprised if anyone noticed anyway!!

Your list of upgrates sounds reasonable but I wouldn't bother with the hardened front hubs, the standard ones are fine. I would get the UJ's for the centre driveshafts instead. I would also change the rear shock shafts to MBX5 ones (this is the only weak point of the whole buggy) and do the front while your at it (about £10-£15).

Don't bother with the 2 speed mod either for racing. Not sure if its legal for a start!

Do you want set-up a I.E shock weights, diff oils, springs etc etc?

Hi thanks for the reply.. :smoke:
I'm not too heavily into racing yet so I'm not really worried about the diff oils..
Ill be racing at the inter club Maxbashing events and thiers no restrictions on what size engine you use..
Its funny cos i find the front hubs to be very weak on the lightnings Me or mi bro always end up breaking ours..
But then again when we go bashing were talking 8 feet jumps.. And sometimes we get a few bad landings.
Cheers Andy

Yeah the "outlaw" class @ maxbashing, took my Sav up there about 4 months ago, I was amazed I didn't kill it!!!

The slough track "remote world" is good fun and have you been too 2a Raceway?? You'd like that one a lot if you like maxbashing.

Hi I havent heard of the 2a Raceway! What sort of track is that and where abouts is that one..
Also do you know where i would be able to get any information about the track in slough because slough isant all that far from me.
Thanks Again
Andy
