servos go wacky

I have a duratrax axis buggy, yesterday the electronics started to freek out,like interferance from another radio but I was alone. Today I put a new on off switch and battery holder for the "AA" 4 pak. Still did it. Then I changed recievers , still did it. Had an extra servo, so I swaped it with both steering and throttle at seperate times, still did it. I then changed the crystals, and yes it still did it. I even tried a different radio, still did it. I'm stumped Can any one help? And yes I replaced all battteries.....

Sounds like you may have a metal to metal rub causing a glitch in the servos. If you have done all those other things thats about the only thing left. Does it do it if is not running, just sitting there turned on?

yes it does, servos wiggle at various times. more so when i touch my ignitor to the head

It does it even wheb its not running, alot when i touch the ignitor to the head

but if i replaced all parts by trial and elimination, what can be the short?

Dont go replacing your parts. Its perfectly fine that your servos glitch when you attach the glow ignitor. My beast glitches everytime my ignitor touches the head with the switches on.

Yes i have noticed that many times. Thats ok fine it goes away, but my problem is dangerious I almost lost the car but it hit a curb going out of control all by it self

Any time you touch your ignitor to your head you will get twitching. I've found this to be true on the following setups:

FM, AM, PCM, PPM and even HRS systems
Futaba, Novak and HiTec RX's
Futaba and HiTec servos
NiMh and Alkaline batteries
MPI, OFNA & Venom failsafes

I have/had combinations of all the above and no matter what get that twich when tuning while on or touching anything metal to the mill (including ignitors)

The only vehicle I am having an issue with right now, where the servos twitch, ever so slightly, at idle, is the Savage. And I believe it to be because of the exhaust mounting wire not being tightened down enough. Will cinch it up today and find out.

Sometimes its very hard to find the souce, if not on ocassion impossible, of servo glitching. I've seen it because of something loose (metal to metal), too much battery power in the TX, not enough batt. power in the TX, antenna touching a part of the chassis when it shouldnt be, slight nick in servo wire exposing one of the leads and a bad servo connector. Again, it can be hard to find the souce. But the glo ignitor is normal and so is the tuning screwdriver.

It might be just where your running your vehicle has alot of radio interference. A glitch is one of the hardest things to find. You have to giggle anything that has a metal to metal contact. If you see it glitch then you have to isolate those parts from each other.

You're getting great advice from the other folks in here. I agree, definately glitching. I have this power transformer down my street and when I get a little too close. it becomes possesed to the point where I have to walk down and physically pick up the truck. Try another location and see what that does for you.
