Hey all, been having major trouble with my servos..The steering is fine, but the T/B is all over the place. When i give it full brake of throttle it simply can't, it twitches and doesn't make full travel, the result no brakes and crappy throttle response.I have taken the lid off and all the wires seem connected. But its really anoying me. I may even buy a new servo if i know what to get. Help?

Unplug your throttle servo from the receiver. Plug your steering servo into the throttle port. Go full throttle and then full brake. If your wheels turn left and right without any glitching then you know the throttle servo is toast.

Thanks Addict, i'll try that now.

Ok just did it then. I plugged the steering servo in the throttle port and throttle servo into steering port. Now when i turn the wheel, the T/B servo works perfectly without a twitch, and when i pump the trigger, nothing happens. What does this mean.

well, it's not the servo

You've isolated what the problem is not since the servo is working fine...you now have to move back working your way to the receiver. next thing in line is your esc assumably. remove all the connectors and thoroughly inspect the pins. Make sure none are bent or broke off. Make sure there are no shorted pins, as in any type of small wire or water even inside that area that could be shorting it out. Clean it well and reinstall your connectors and try it again.
If that doesn't work and you have a compatable one laying around, swap the esc. Or take your radio outside to a buddy's car, knock him in the head take his transmitter crystal and put in yours and take his car for a ride...if it works fine, you then eliminated the transmitter.

It doesn't matter anymore. Now when i plug the wires in the correct ports, steering is good, no T/B whatsoever.. New servo?

no, that still points to throttle output on your radio.

do you, by chance, have a N/R switch on your radio throttle that might be stuck in between settings?

But if you plug your t/b servo into your steering port, then turn the wheel, the t/b servo moves smooth and as it should? If so, your receiver or transmitter is bad.

That was why I suggested switching the throttle out for the steering--to isolate it so that we know if it's the servo or the receiver. In this case, and as the others have stated, you have an issue with the receiver or transmitter. One of the two has a bad channel in it.

So now what do i do? And yes olds, steering wheel works the T/B perfectly and the trigger doesn't even move the steering. Now when they are both in the correct ports, steering is good, T/B does nothing at all

That tells you that both servos are fine, and you either have a bad receiver or transmitter. If you know anyone with the same receiver, try your radio and crystals with it.

Could be either or. If ya can't find someone to swap with to check the problem further, you could try and find a deal on a remote and receiver on ebay.

No, they are not universal. Not entirely anyway.

What radio system do you have now? What brand/model and frequency range (27mhz/75mhz/2.4Ghz)?

We may be able to help you out with something compatible with what you have. I'd try replacing the receiver first. Really though, there's no way to know which is the culprit without having a second transmitter that you know works to test the receiver with or a known good receiver to test your transmitter with.

As Rolex stated, you've ruled out an actual servo problem.

As for cost, depends on what brand/model you have. If it's a traxxas setup, then you can usually get a transmitter or receiver for around $25 shipped on eBay. If you buy both the transmitter/receiver, then $30-$50 on eBay.

I dont really know much at all about radios. But all i can tell you is what i see on them which is. Servo: GV Gvs-1 and the transmitter says 29.825 MHZ. Thats all i know sorry
