The throttle servo (TRA2018) was glitching I thought was interference till I untangled all wires, the glitch stopped long enough for me to find out the steering servo is twice as fast-responsive, but while still untangled started glitching again:(

Must be a problem so...I like to see how things work...
I took apart throttle servo no broke gears, connect to power the motor ran constantly.
I believe either the motor or the board has went south is it repairable or must I replace it?

I ask cause I see they sell replacement gears and a replacement case for the servo I have but I don't know if case comes with motor and/or board?
I'm tring to determine whether to by new or repair... I need the genius of RCNITROTALK to help me.

If buying new are other servos interchangeable without adapters and/or mods to the chassis top plate?

Will bad throttle servo have effect on how engine runs keep from idling? My idle screw is set and it idled fine last time I had it out
I was told yes by neighbor who gives bad advice consistently:)

What to you mean glitching? Like cutting out and then going back, or staying cutting out, or complete loss of control?

twitches on-off-on-off really fast noticed after hearing noise when RX AND TX both on but not physically touching either

do you have a digital remote? and if so maybe you could have jacked your settings alittle.
and if it started doing it out of nowhere then either you maybe have a short or pinched wire. and also a servo board or motor can just go out on you also. hope it is not a very expensive one for ya.

kinda like interference quick off-on-off-on bursts sometimes just a few times till I turn off then back on.

I bought new servo around $30.00 and is fine now but still is picking up some interference I think.

Now the servo will twitch whenever but just once here maybe 10 mins later again maybe not at all that's why I think it is radio interference now I don't know but it isn't the wires it does it when all the wires are stretched out and separated

Firstly, are you running digital radio (spektrum for example) ? if not and you are in the "Standard" bands of 27, 40 75MHz etc, it could well be interference.

Other than that, it could be a bad servo, try hooking a "Spare" servo into the steering channel on the Rx and see if it does the same thing. if it does, it may not be the servo, however, if it does NOT "Glitch" it could well be the servo.

As to servo's, personal preference would be to ditch the traxxas servo's and purchase a couple better quality ones from the likes of futaba or hi-tec, Ensuring that if it's going in an MT, that they are at least waterproofed to some degree.

As to interference, i ended up switching from 27 to 40MHz during the interim period of acquiring a specktrum digital radio. The interference i got was minimalised to virtually nothing. Now i am actually USING spektrum, i get NO interference at all. Do not misunderstand me, i am not telling you to go digital, but it may be an idea to at least think about it.

Digital has a lot to offer like No interference, a built in failsafe in the Rx, better range, and some radio units have telemetry even, definately a bonus if u want to know engine temps, Rx pack voltage and engine rpm.

Check all your wiring for worn shielding. You probably either have a bare wire shorting to ground or a bad ground wire somewhere.

Also, what kind of batteries are you running in the RX? If you are not running a receiver pack might I suggest one. They will carry and transfer a lot more current that a set of "AA" batteries ever can.
