Is there a basic formula on how much you could sell a used rc for? Here's a formula that one of the shops gave me. You take the original vehicle and split that cost in half. You also take all the hops ups if any and split that cost in half also. Also take into account the condition of the vehicle. Here's an example:

2.5 T-Maxx $200
RPM Arms $20
Selling price would then be $220.

Does that sound about right?

There really is no formula for RC, or anything else u want to sell. It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. I would think that a used tmaxx 2.5 would be worth a lil more than that.

Just ask yourself this question before you price anything to sell: "would I buy it at that price rather than spending a lil more to get something brand new?"

Just to give u an idea - i just bought an RC10GT used for 250.00 without an engine or radio. I could get a new rc10gt RTR for 270.00. But I wanted to use my own engine and electronics, and it had about 300.00 worth of hop ups and extras, along with that it was a TEAM kit with all the hop ups that it comes with - these things were important to me, as i want to race with it, and win! So u see - in my eyes i got a great deal, where as someone else that was a novice and just wanted to get out and have fun would be better off getting a new RTR model. Got it?

Nitro said it best. It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Timing is another thing. What's popular at the time and how hard would it be to get a new one ? Good example: When the new 2.5 T-Maxx came out all the guys that had the older ones with the .15 engine wanted the new one. The engines weren't readily available right away and some guys were parting out the newer maxx's on ebay and getting tons of money for the engine alone. If you didn't want to wait for Traxxas to release them separately you could get one on ebay, but for a steap price. Now I think you can get one at you LHS for around $90. I could clean up my buggy, make it look brand new but the engine internals could be shot. Before I buy used I want to see it, hear it, drive it.
