Hrm, after reading a few posts today about the T-Maxx VS the Savage, I'm wondering if I should e-bay my T-Maxx for a Savage.

Can anyone help me out here? Maybe Chris can give me a demo on his. :stick: :D

I have the original Maxx, I only saw the savage up close, never drove it. But like anything new, it's going to have it's bug's to work out. The savage looked like a decent truck, seem so what easy to maintain and run, and also it seems as if there's alot of hop-ups coming out for it. It's up to you what you want. I hear alot of kid's saying they want more speed, but why? What good would it be to make your truck faster if it already can hit 40-50. It's not like your on a 3 mile drag strectch racing after it in your real car. Leave that for the car's. These are monster trucks, just like the real ones on TV. Do you see thgem going 50+? No, why? because there meant for mud bogging, jumping, ect...
As for my Maxx, it's been through some tough bashing. And still running strong.

I have a hopped original T-Maxx, and I just bought the Savage. So far, I like what I see of the Savage. Other than a few pain in the ass design flaws, this thing looks like it will kick some tail.

I have put my T-Maxx up against Pirata's Savage, and it held its own. I think both trucks are great for what I do, mudding, jumping, bashing, etc. When I get the Savage's engine broken in, I'll let you all know what I think about what it can do.

As for selling your Maxx to get a Savage, if that is the only way you can get a Savage go for it. Just think about what you want to do, though. If you sell it on eBay or any where else, there is no chance that you will get anywhere near what you put into it. Soooo...I'd suggest saving the T-Maxx and your money...then when you have enough money, you can buy a Savage. You will then have two awesome trucks to play with.

Hrrrmm. What would I gain by going to the Savage? More reliability? More stable? In the end, will it be worth it? I can't support 2 monster trucks, and I really don't have the time to run multiple vehicles. My Nitro Sport is lucky if it sees pavement, and my poor Micro RS4 has only been run several times in the house.

Indecision sucks.

if your happy with the maxx, keep it,if not....sell it and buy the savage.

What he said...

To answer your questions. The Savage is slightly bigger (all around including engine). Handles about the same as a T-Maxx (based on Pirata's driving). Looks like a bad-ass truck...

If two is too much, then go with the one you think will best serve your needs.

I dont think it handles like the maxx at all. Wait till you 'roll' into a turn at high speed. The maxx would go through the air. The savage stays planted. Those shocks are good for something. Plus, the Savage is like a soapbox CG, whereas the maxx is like a party boat CG. I'm still debating on which one jumps better. With Big Ole Joe 40's on the Sav., you have some GREAT gyros for guided flight. Seems to be easier to control in the air. The maxx still has it in overall distance jumping. Sav. lands great to boot! Even after a 20+ turn sideways roll, at full speed, and yes, just kept on going. Woodie got to see that one.

Still a mixed bag of doughnuts. A lot of great ones but everyone has their own favorite.
