If its a brand new engine i see no point in sealing it yet. Others may disagree with me but i run the 2.5r and never sealed it and its doing great. I never sealed my .19T and its doing great as well. The only time i would seal an engine is if you are having problems tuning it due to wear and you actually have air leaks. Just install it as is and complete the breakin correctly and go from there with your performance tuning.

Its brand new, "sealing it" is a waste of time & the O~rings do a better job of it anyhow.

if you have to seal, actualy reseal, just getting picky, LOL i know you young people like RTV . and thats ok, i guess. but i have used somthing i started 1965. but before we had RTV we had this. permatex , 2 form-a gasket sealant, item# 80016 (2b) it is brown in color, and pliable. non-harding. check it out. any good parts house will have it. you might like it. but if you like RTV thats ok to.

Permatex is fine. Just some type of high temp sealant. I would recommend always sealing an engine. And yes even the brand new 1's. If you get a friday after lunch mill they probably didnt get exact as the beginning of Tuesday morning when they were sober. The backplate, carb neck, and pullstart will be just fine. Seal it. It can't hurt
