I am going to pick up some gasket sealant (I've heard the name permatex?) to seal my hpi K4.6 today. I have an ofna 125cc fuel tank that I had to screw the inlets in, and are only "sealed" with a washer. I can't "smash" down on the washer because I am afraid of stripping the threads on the tank. Would this silicon gasket sealant work to seal the inlets? Should I use JB weld instead? I am thinking that I will put the stuff on the threads on the inlet, and on either side of the washer.

Thanks ahead of time

Sorry if I don't make sense:\

No the tank is not leaking (fuel) but I am pretty sure I have an air leak somewhere on the engine, and I was just thinking that I could seal the inlets on the tank while I am at it. So will that gasket sealer work?

Cold weld the tank. Take a soldering iron and let it heat up, then take a clean, clear plastic cap from a spray paint can and cut off some strips. Take the strips and melt them into the plastic of the tank so that it builds up nicely. Sealants have a really hard time coping with the nitro fuel and you'll end up re-applying it several times before you get fed up and replace the tank.
